I agree with this, but it's relative. United will need to absolutely vomit all over themselves not to make the KOs -- Chelsea obviously should top the group. There's no cakewalk team we play here. We SHOULD advance, but it's not going to be easy.
 
I don't know why you all think it's an easy group.

5th 6th 7th and 19th best teams in Europe so three of these teams are QF standard.

It will be interesting but very close and zero opportunity to play anything but our strongest team.

It also means everyone is capable of getting points off everyone else.

I think people forget that we all have to play each other. If we're at it, we are the best in the group, and the rest will be thinking we are.
 
That's a pretty tough group. It's pleasing to avoid Bayern and Barca for once.

The reality is that if we have aspirations to win the League then we should be expecting to qualify from this group.

The upside is that we have avoided traipsing to Kazakhstan!
 
Don't understand why anybody would consider this a difficult group. Juventus is the toughest draw and they arent half the team they were last year. We should have a point to prove this tike.
 
For the first time I can remember, all the groups appear similar with no obvious walk over groups.
We will top that group I reckon if current intensity carries on.
 
Ryanair have already doubled the price of some of their flights from Manchester to Brussels before the dates have been sorted - very sneaky.
 
Well, main thing is that we need to win the group to have a better chance of progressing beyond the last 16. That means avoiding Real, Barca and Bayern in the group. We have. No excuses now. Having said that, one of those teams will probably cock up their group and come 2nd, and we'll still draw them in the last 16!

It's easier when you consider it from a "chance to win the group" perspective, although the CSKA/Plzen year was easier from a "chance to qualify" perspective.

5th year in the Champion's League, the previous 4 we've had Bayern 3 times, and Real once, in our group. Clearly 2nd favourite, at best, each of those years. This year I reckon we're favourites to finish top of the group.
