Champions League Draw & TV Pairings

Genuinly looking forward to this years Champions League. The whole allure of getting there is to go up against the best teams in Europe (and apparently Khazakstan).

If we want to win it, we have to beat the tougher teams anyway, might as well do it in the group, and as has been said, it could have been worse...
 
Although it's easy to get annoyed at how ridiculously fixed these draws are what I will say is this....we have nothing to be afraid of in our group. In fact none of the teams we are facing will be happy to be in our group. We have started the season focussed and determined. If we continue to play in the same way there is no reason why we can't win our group. Some great away trips as well. Juventus aren't the same force they were last year either. Come on city lets fucking smash it!
 
Sorry haven't time to go back to earlier in the thread but are we on the same night as the rags, if so guess the TV companies will be already be giving us a token appearance on the box just to show there's no bias!!
 
Well hello to all from an Juventus Fan

Juventus in group stage always had problem even with an easy group like last year with onlympiacos e malmoe so i dont have fear for the group this year,atleast this year watching our rivals we have to be concentrated in every game and with big teams we do better.

i have watched city matches this year vs chelsea and everton and honestly this year city have an impressive team and i think this year city will have a long road on CHL, compact team in deffense and an super attack wich can be more super with KDB.

Sevilla is a tought team and them play a great football...

Monchengladbah this year i think is not like last year but Germans are always tought in home matches..

Wish to City an great season in PL and good CHL except the matches against Juve :P

Just logged on, am I seeing this right? We're not playing CSKA and Bayern? And we didn't get the hardest teams from each possible draw?
 
All three trips booked and decent prices. Stanstead - Turin £52 return and Manchester - Malaga £105 return both with Ryanair. Gonna take the company car and drive to Gladbach
 
Well City got what they wanted. New cities to explore in Europe. Turin, Seville and Monchengladbach. However, Juventus will be beatable I think. Juventus have lost their players like Vidal, Tevez, Pirlo and they are about to lose Pogba. They will finish similarly how they did 2 years back, when they were 3rd. Sevilla, on the other hand, are a tough opponent and I expect them to top the group with City second. City ended with the hardest Pot 3 team. Monchengladbach should be easy 6 points in the bag.

Man Utd got a decent group. PSV the only weak link. I expect Utd to top the group with CSKA in second. Actually, this group is a repeat of the group of 2009-10 group stage but instead of PSV, it was Besiktas. Utd and CSKA were the teams that progressed. CSKA also nearly won at OT, 3-1 but ended up with 3-3. Wolfsburg will be easy, they're overrated IMO, a team lost 6-1 on agg to Everton lol. Plus, without KDB, they'd be worse. But it would be scenes if CSKA get City in the knockouts.

Group of Death IMO is the Madrid, PSG and Shakhtar. But still, PSG and Madrid will progress. Shakhtar sold their best player.

I managed to listen to talkshite in the car for ten minutes inbetween The Biscuit Billionaire and Paddington. They seemed to think we had the group of death again and said the rags had an easy group. Collymoron was adamant that Sevilla were favourites and we would be fighting Juve for 2nd.
 
Wonder why Juventus weren't at home first, they were top seed?

Not complaining, us being at home first is a massive opportunity to get 3 points on the board and take control of the group.

Funny thing is we have the harder group but should top it if we play well whereas the rags have an easier group but I think they are going to struggle, CSKA Moscow being shock winners in that group.
 
Honestly, I think we're going to win the group and win it handily this year. More then that I think we have a real chance to progress deep into the champions league this year. I have a really good feeling about it. Our team is so strong right now and soon to be stronger with KDB arriving. Our defense is improving and we're playing a formation that favors us finally. I have a really good feeling about this.

as well as that we are 5th favs to win it outright , feck the media they can say what they like , Ive never seen a poor bookie have you ?
