I pm'ed you to ask you to stop wumming - I even said thanks. You responded 'fuck off'. So I gave you a taste of your own medicine.

I was attempting to stop the thread from descending into you insulting me ever second line and me responding to your churlish put downs and derailing the thread.
Again the site owner has suggested doing this in the CoC, I thought it would stop the shite, but no you had to bring it back to the thread.

As for the bully stuff, oh my lord! You are a sensitive soul aren't you?

Why don't you post the PM and let whoever you're trying to play up to see what I sent you? Or would you prefer if I posted it?

If you think I've attempted to 'bully' you why don't you report me. Ha ha

STOP PMING ME!! Whatever you are selling I am not buying, I don't agree with you get over it. Go out and do what normal humans do instead of stalking people online.

The Govts response and coverage is next to zero as its all about the War in Yemen. What I will say is that the Govt. have spent many Millions on defeating the threat from ISIS as they take it very serious but to back up bluemancs view a few pages back that was immediately shot down by Monkfish the Saudi's have no time for any one other than themselves. Syrians will not want to come here as they will be second class citizens. This country is tribal, Bedouin actually who fight between themselves therefore Tribe first Muslims second. Lots of Muslims from the Middle East come here to work but are not respected they are the lucky ones. The Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankans and Bangladeshi are treated literally like shit here, they are invited over to do the shittiest of jobs and are literally imprisoned (passports taken off them and must do 2 years before they can leave the country). That would happen to the Syrians added to that strict Sharia law, I could go on therefore the last place these people would go is here, the Saudi's have huge problems with securing the Northern border from the ISIS threat and are fighting a nasty War in Yemen which is the absolute focus for them at the moment. Having said all that Saudi especially Riyadh has a huge migrant population and the locals detest it !

Seems to contradict the assumption many on here make that consider the middle east and moslems in general as a homogenous mass, thanks for the background, can't understand why you'd want to live there.

Its a means to an end, I work with the Saudi forces so I actually get to enjoy it (and have made lots of friends on the way), its not for everyone as Saudi's are very difficult to deal with but as an ex soldier myself regardless of religion and race all soldiers are pretty much the same.

As I say, can't understand your life choice but you have your reasons, thanks for the insight.

So basically the article's saying gulf states don't take in more Syrians because Syrians are foreign and it costs money.

Doesn't seem to saying it in a particularly judgemental way though. Strange the way the world works.

I didn't get that from the article at all. The one sentence in there that it boils down to is this:

"It does, however, make sense that they don't end up in countries where their presence could turn an unsteady equilibrium into chaos."

The conflict in Syria is down, in part, to Shia and Sunni neighbours in Iran and The Gulf fuelling and funding proxy wars in an effort to ensure their own sects maintain more influence in the region. I thought that this article was saying that to upset the balance in some of the neighbouring countries could see even further conflict breaking out?

It will be interesting to see what City do with regards to money/donations. Madrid have just committed 1 million euros to refugees in Spain. I reckon the situation will be a bit more complex for the City hierarchy as whatever they do will have political implications in the Middle East. I hope though that those are put to one side and we follow suit and make a significant donation in the UK.

surely more pressure should be put on arab countries to take in more migrants with places like bahrain and the uae not taking any apparently.

It seems to being ignored, infact it doesn't seem,it is.
They refuse point blank to take any,its well reported that they see a large proportion of the migrants as former fighters.
Does seem a disproportionate amount of adult males,
In case anyone has missed it,the father of the child shown dead on the beach AND his family were offered Canadian citizenship,he refused & he then put them on an unsuitable boat & they died.
Strange that his actions are ignored.
