Media bias against City

Our loss to last year's finalists is looking less frustrating by the day. Amazing that 5 of the 6 English team's CL group games have ended in defeat, particularly when you consider that PSV, Olympiakos and Porto are the ones dishing it out. We need to beat Borussia tonight to distance ourselves from the slagging that's rightly going on at the moment.

To be fair porto at home are always a tough game! But the other 4 are avoidable!

Whilst our defeat to Juve was poor, it was always on the cards, and didn't constitute much of a shock to many. Whereas losing at home to Olympiakos is downright shite.

I've enjoyed the "City were lucky", "City snatched victory" narrative in just about every newspaper today. Yeh, we were gung ho in terms of defensive numbers, something which got us into trouble as usual, but ultimately we racked up 26 shots at goal away from home, compared to BM's 14, so just how fucking lucky were we really?! Same goes for Spurs (22 shots to their 15) and West Ham (27 shots to 6), yet according to the media clowns all those teams 'deserved' to beat us!

Apparently, if it wasn't for Joe we could have been 3 down at half time. You could say, if Kun
had his shooting boots on it could have been 3 to us. But somehow that all seems to be forgotten.

finger pointer on BT sport , couldnt hide his disappointment at our victory , savage in his commentary ,changed his view from a "disaster" to a "brilliant" performance in the space of 20 minutes , really don take any heed of pundits or journos anymore , they have their personal agenda with the club they support and the agenda of their employers , if they want to keep their jobs ,they generally write and say what they are instructed to , to appease their dipper, rag and gooners customer base. In about ten years time when we are an established club with a healthy fan base they will leave us alone , and the next "new boys" on the block will get the treatment , "its not personal its business" :)

If it wasn't for the donut theif United would be mid table cannon fodder last season. Proved again why he's the best keeper in the premier league for me last night, we are lucky to have him. Don't sell Joe Hart!

Or it wasn't for their keeper, Kun would have had a hatrick before the penalty!

Noticed that the BT highlights punditry consisted of.........Rio Fuckhead, Michael fucking Owen, then was it Mcminimum or doc the martin Keane? or some other ex rag.

There was a moment during last nights game, early in the 2nd half, when a Wolfsburg player went though on goal - he was 5 yards offside yet Savage set about slaging off our defence! It was such an obvious offside its bad enough for the lino to miss it but when the commentators don't even mention it its enough to drive you mad!

You seem to be on the wrong forum

Anyone hear the Blue on 5live phone in dismantle the guest journo after the game last night? All over in about 60 seconds as he laid bare the abysmal standard of so called sports reporting in the British press. I'd missed what tripe had provoked the lad, something about the reporting on Pellegrini I think, but he didn't waste a word or a second in handing the sad sack his arse on a plate.

It was one of those moments where the briefest of golden silences in the studio tells you everything you need to know. It had all been said.

Eventually the host stepped in as he was clearly about to go all Ronnie Pickering at any moment live on air.

If you are on here Blue, I salute you. Cheers

the blue on the radio did very well -answered their first few questions calmly then turned it on them about the sad state of puditry and the pause/shock said everything. well done that man

With modesty, I admit that was me. Very unusually, Radio 5 actually rang me (rather than me calling in). I've been on a few times and was on in person after the 1-0 derby win in 2012.

The 'journalists' on these phone-ins make it reasonably easy to take them apart such is the garbage they talk.

Thank you for your comments. Much appreciated.

I was probably about 15 mins in to the half hour programme. I've not heard it on iplayer but I imagine that it is about at that point.

Enjoy.

Haha That is tremendous. Well, as I said. It was short and very sweet.
Interesting you say they phoned you because I was going to say originally the way the host (was it Pougatch?) paused as well, just for a brief second, but long enough to suggest he had enjoyed it as well. Not surprising really. Its great radio.

Look forward to the next time and thanks from a Blue for fighting the corner so well. No pressure now ;)
