I Swear I Was There !!!

Given the infantile spelling mistake i opened this thread expecting a momemt of comedic genius.......how disappointing.......on a couple of levels.

Definitely there, got a selfie to prove it

.........even before 'selfies' - only joking. Will someone please tell me we are talking Mansfield at home .....gate about 3,000+......
Cos I was there.................bloody hell we have moved on a-pace.

3007 iirc and used by the tabloids & rags to mock us though I seem to recall being told before the game that it would be the reserves playing

I call foul - unless your a fucking orangutan your arms would never have been long enough to take it with a box brownie!
It's Friday and a big drinking night a couple of hours away. So just being playful ;)
I wasn't there, it was a very long way from home then

The only reason it was over 3,000 was about a dozen Bayern (I think?) fans in the kippax as they were playing the rags the next day.

Some shit paper, the mirror i think, posted a picture of the empty ground and next to it one of a full swamp who were playing a European game the next night i think. The same piece of crap also famously didn't do a report on our top of the table clash against Forest when we were in the 1st division and we drew after Collymore scored a penalty for them i think.Totally missed our game from the sports pullout and the back pages. The agenda was alive and kicking even back then lol!

I was decorating the dining room at my last house. I can still remember the exact bit I was doing whilst listening to the awful game on the radio.

I was actually on my way to York that day and, would you believe, my car broke down and I missed the game. Oh and if bullshit was a form of energy I'd be a nuclear reactor!!!.

It is famous as City's away following that day was 300,000. 200,000 short of the 500,000 United took to the Nou Camp in 1999 for the Champions league final. We could have took 500,000 but Bootham Crescent was a lot smaller than the Nou Camp. either way, it is impressive nevertheless.

I didn't go for some reason or other think it was the only home game I missed that season.

My mate (and it really was my mate) was sat in the North Stand with his girlfriend and a picture of the game in the MEN I think showed a whole empty block apart from his legs in the top corner, he was lucky as fuck as his wife thought he was working.

Wasn't at York, but how many of you went to either of these games? I was there for both!
