Turtle not a happy bunny. Asking the press if they thought that they owed him an apology, and saying that he was only talking to the media because of PL rules, not because he wants to.

thousands of city fans turned coat after munich ,a lot of women ,men who "floated* beetween the two clubs ,children were swayed becouse of the disaster ,

But did it add "millions" of fans? I doubt that. Maybe 50-100,000 more fans.
I became a fan of Utd in the mid-90s (I'm not a local!) based on their style of play and success.
Its only after a few years I decided to check up on Utd's history.
While tragic, it is hard for me to be affected by an incident which took place exactly 30 yrs before I was born.

You are badly overestimating the effects of the Munich tragedy.
Utd might have been everyone's second favorite team in the 60s but it was more because we played in an attractive, expansive way.
In the 70-80s when the football was dire, Utd were just another football team.

With respect, that is a load of bollocks!

How many Munich air disaster memorial matches have there been?

Even at the last one in 2008, you couldn't resist the chance to make money from it by putting your sponsors' name on the mascots' shirts, when it had previously been agreed that there would be no shirt sponsorship.

Then there was the one, in which your Kung fu black-belt wannabe was paid, what was it? £90 000 FROM THE RECEIPTS OF THE GAME, rather than from club funds.

No doubt there will be another in just over two years' time.

So don't come this crap that you shabby lot hasn't milked the tragedy for all it's worth!

got to remember his age, the fact he know it's his last job and was probably finished as a boss before this role. Ferguson has created a culture where you have to be a dickhead to run that club, Moyes and Van Gaal are both too nice, and it's broken both of them down. Giggs suits them, but lacks the experience. Mou is the obvious choice, because that's the culture they've created.

Commercializing a tragedy is atrocious but in no way does the Munich tragedy affect a modern (post-90s) fan's support of a team.
Most of Utd's fans are born outside of England (myself included) and loyalty was built on a period of sustained success.

Why do you say that?
We have stable revenues, improving profitability, fresh investment coming up in youth facilities (long overdue) and an outlook of long term planning.
The gap between us and the other title contenders is not huge.
Whats making the transition painful is the style of play we are introducing ... but its better to do it now than later.
Don't make me laugh, Investment is a word your owners don't know the meaning of, they will probable spend what it takes to try and keep u in the top 4 gravy train, after that not 1 more penny, remember they have to take their divi each year. In the future your probably going to need new owners or a fuckin miracle to challenge City. LGHU.

And there, in a nutshell, is the very essence of a yoonited fan.

Wanker.

I would rather have my club run as a business than a charity.
A business oriented mentality will lead to sustainable systems and prudent decision making.
I have no problems if owners extract dividends outside of clubs or companies as long as they meet their targets.

On the other hand, there is a credible argument that many of City's commercial deals have come because of companies trying to keep your influential owners happy rather than a market-oriented rationale. If there is an Arab Spring (not unthinkable) and the regime changes, it would be interesting to see how that plays out at City.

As of now, United are a 'safer' asset.

At least you're honest.

funny that the barren spell coming will see the majority jump ship.

Typifies utd fans im afraid, glory hunters to a tee.

Could you quantify that assumption please. As a club we don`t own a penny and yet your leaders continually place you club into millions of pounds into debt and you carry on paying astronomical interest on those loans.
Give me an Arab businessman any day compared to a Yank one.

Yeah, of course you are.

I'm really not bothered how or why we clinch our sponsorship deals, as long as they are at market value. Manchester City is the best run club in English, maybe world football and the rags, as well as every other club is playing catch up.

This is true even for City.
Do you think an ethnic Malaysian will support a team full of Black and Hispanic players run by Arabs in a White Country because he shares the same value systems as the Blacks, Hispanics, Arabs and Whites?
Wake up !!!
It has always been about success. Only a sustained period of success will lead to loyalty.
