How would you feel if Mancini went to Chelsea? | Now linked with United (p10) and Forest (p14)

He helped create a better team than we have now. More fight, desire and passion in them and that was down to him. Manuel was apparently what the players and club wanted and needed but we have hardly excelled under his stewardship.

giving the players the power to change the manager is going down the wrong road for me
a iron fist of a manager is needed with so called superstars at a big club you have to be strong and have big balls to give them a kick up the arss every now and then. but also have a soft side and show them love and that's key with building a empire you just have to know what is what and who needs what at the right time and mancini had that touch. yes sometimes he was wrong but you could count them on 1 hand over the good of the club. Mario was 1 of them I think Mario let him down and that what lost him some of the players at the time but I could understand what manacini seen in Mario

the bond with mancini is something special that he can never forget about how much respect we have for him and he as for us its only something by being a Manchester city fan that you can answer. its ok by me for him to manage Chelsea he will respect us the fans but would do a job on the board and show them in trying to beating us

Which would be his job as a top professional football manager.

I'd be devastated. He's ours.

He took that fucking banner down, he won us the league in the most exciting, exhilarating way imaginable, he done them cunts 6-1 at their manor. He's a City legend, and I don't a fucking cunting rats twatting arse if he didn't say good morning to some fucking gurning imbecile.

It's quite sad how some people remember Mancini, despite the things he so obviously did for us. I'm not misty eyed enough to want him back or say it was the wrong decision to sack him. However, the complete lack of respect he gets in some quarters is sad to see. No small part of that is down to the club, who to it's eternal shame did a brilliant job of smearing Mancini in the media. The rags PR machine would have been proud of that one.
Winning the first trophy and taking that banner down. Winning our first Prem title and getting under the gpc's skin to such an extent that he threw away all reason in a successful attempt to win back the title. Something which the rags are still paying the price for today. Those aren't small things, they are huge events in the history of Manchester City football club, and we would do well to remember that.
I hope in years to come the club and Mancini can bury the hatchet so whenever he returns he can be treated like the club legend he undoubtedly is and the red carpet laid out for him, as it is for other legends of our past.

Diego Simeone is what Chelsea need but if they're unwilling to give him the level of control he has at Atletico Madrid then Mancini would be a good fit, IMO. I couldn't care less where he manages just like I don't care where Aguero or Kompany end up after City. These are employees of an organisation whilst we are lifelong fans.

yep
any club he would be manager vs Manchester city but I bet he would have a have a tear in his eyes on what we could have been under him and with the backing of the board with the players he wanted and not brain marwoods I think we would be on a better path than under pellegrini right now. I don't think we have moved forward in the 3 seasons after mancini and if anything we moved back a couple of steps in that now we are looking to pep guardiola to build a new squad that will take time and money

if you look at it this way the 6 years of mancini I bet we would be a better domestic club we would have won back to back premier leagues that I have know doubt also I would bet barca and the rest of the big clubs in champions league would still be well infront of any English team that's now in the knockouts know matter who is boss of Manchester city so that's why I would ask the question why sack mancini

And that's the bottom line right there, isn't it? We support City, not the players, not the manager, even not the owners. The players screw up, we give them shit. The manager screws up, we give him shit. Should the owners screw up, God forbid, we will give them shit too. We can also grow attached to some players, some managers for things they have done, but we will be here, through good and bad, long after they are gone, and they have to earn it.

To be fair, whether you buy the stories about player unrest or not, it was pretty clear Mancini wouldn't accept the structure the owner wanted to put in place. There was only going to be one winner there. You can disagree with that structure if you want, but the owners have more than enough credit to do what they want in terms of structure as far as I am concerned.

We've moved forwards. We won two trophies in 13/14, have qualified three times from our Champions League group (this time winning it) and Pellegrini's win percentage is exceptional. Also, City make a profit now and the negative headlines including Tevez, Balotelli and Cook are no longer there.

Mancini would take any job offered to him if he felt it was right.

I've already explained why.

Bang on mate. Good post.

Mancini might have fell out with everyone at the club but he'll always be a club legend to me.

Mediocre manager, couldn't care less who he manages.

Yet he has been successful at every club he has managed and unlike some managers, they haven't always been the most successful clubs prior to his appointment.

I wonder how many other managers of 5 or more teams have won trophies at every club. Not exactly a mediocre achievement.

I would love to hear what qualifies him as a "mediocre" manager.

Unfounded comments like that do very little to quell any "debate". But you probably know that.

Whenever he came up against a world-class manager, usually in Europe as the Premier League had a dearth at that time, he always seemed to be out-thought. Domestically he has always been able to hold his own, but with next year's managerial line-up at our big clubs likely to be something like Guardiola/Klopp/Mourinho (I won't include Wenger as he's only very recently started to improve his big game record) I don't think even that will be the case any more.
