Ouch. You'd never have seen such an article in GPC's day. They're losing their aura of (made up word alert) "uncriticisability".
Spot on - Luckhurst is a dreadful journo and can't hide his pro rag sentiments, he sounds depressed....which is nice

i keep reminding them about after Depay scoring 2 in qualifying v Brugge they were singing " you sign Sterling we sign Memphis Depay " lol yep you sure did

my mates have taken the shit out route of saying they are glad when they have been getting beat as it means LVG will be sacked, they even were texting " Get IN " when stoke scored

I could never wish that City lost a game, whatever the circumstances.

Could see themselves 9th tonight, Waaa haaa haaaa.

There is little to fear and not much for the eye-gouger to work with in the present rags' squad. It only has one world-class player (the alpaca). Most of the rest are either past it (shrek, Carrick, pig keeper) or unproven kids (Nashville Dopey, whatshisname, lingard).

Maureen likes a ready-made squad, with which he can win trophies immediately. That's not going to happen at the swamp, IMHO.
Totally agree. The only decent player is the alpaca and he will be off in a flash at the end of the season. That leaves Wigan de Pie, the shaved monkey, pig keeper, whatisname etc etc. I think that they are hoping the solid family man will take over the reins with Shrek pulling the strings in the dressing room (and in the bedrooms).

This is glorious. They are a decade away from being competitive again.

Footballer owns flash car. They really do scrape the bottom of the barrel at the Mirror.
Not sure what the problem is, if you pay someone 100k a week and they spend a couple of weeks' wages on a car...so what? My modest little shatback cost more than a couple of weeks of my wages..should I be embarrassed?

Probably because it's tastelessly rubbing your earnings in the face of other players, particularly if you are conspicuously not earning them.

The other week Navas driving a Micra was news - footballers - damned if they do damned if they don't

I think it looks a bit worse when you see some kid who's proved nothing turning up in a car like that, rather than an established world class player. But that's the way the game has gone, and he's by no means the only one. Still better than Stephen Ireland's Range Rover monstrosity.

I agree it does stink, i think my gripe is with the reporter and the general underhand feeling the article leaves me with.
You could have the same article but come from a different angle, say "What does this picture tell you" and have an article about the dangers of to much money to young etc.
The message would be the same but it would feel less of a targeted attack on a single player kind of, not sure i am explaining myself very well here haha.

Either way not something any of us will fuss over to much, as long as it is them getting it off the press and not us :-D

Talking with my nephew yesterday - dyed in the wool rag and I respect him for that ( poor deluded soul ) - he seems to think along the lines of most rags and as such is convinced that Pep and Maureen are beneath the rags anyway because they only manage top teams to guaranteed success neither have a track record of building a team ( like the GPC myth ) - so in effect he says the rags shouldn't be interested in two proven winners as manager. He says the situation is crying out for the Family Man. When asked why he says because " he understands Ushited and the way and he will bring the Ushited mentality that is needed to play the Ushited way " ............... its like some sort of mantra plodded out that has no basis in any sort of fact ffs

I did say that was all well and good but that didn't really cut the mustard. I disregarded the Ushited Way bollocks when he couldn't really explain what that was except playing "attacking football with wingers" ( copywrite most lazy football journalists ) and pointed out by his own admission the squad was underpar and needed investment .... AGAIN... and that DeGea was likely on his way come the end of the season.

The response.............. the Family Man understands Ushited and will galvanise them into a winning team to snatch top 2 this season - he will convince DeGea to stay as they march on to Euro glory again and with the minimum of tinkering under the Family Man they will be just fine.

Abo-fucking-lutely deluded.............

I find it amusing in the extreme, that this myth of the 'united way' which has delivered united so much commercially, will be such a millstone round their neck for many years to come. How do you un-brainwash 659 million people?

To me, it shows a complete lack of(as they say over here) "cop on" by the player. I'm sure he must be aware that he hasn't set the world alight Since he joined TWGC™. No one is seriously expecting him to turn up in a Dacia. But something slightly less OTT than a 21 year old in a Roller wouldn't go amiss. A nice BM, or a Range Rover. Or, he could drive what the discerning people drive, a Ford Focus.
