It's going to be twice as interesting to watch them with Vieira as a manager. He's obviously going to loan some players from EDS.

They've already signed a centreback (Ethan White) from Philadelphia for 2017 SuperDraft 4th Round pick.

Watson-Siriboe, Grabovoy, Velasquez. Akira Fitzerald, Pablo Alvarez, and, unfortunately, Jeb Brovsky, have been released. The loan of Calle has expired.

They deffo need a leftback.
I couldn't find the length of Damarcus Beasley's contract with Dynamo Houston, but I'd like to see him at NYCFC. He's 33 but still quick and powerful (at least at MLS level) and he can accept a non-designated contract from NYC.

There'll be some drafts I think so there's gonna be opportunities to sign proper players.

Pirlo won't leave unfortunately so it's unlikely NYC will have a place for a DP. He was a great player and he is a great PR-thing but they have more than enough central midfielders in NYC.

I'd like to see the following XI: Saunders - Iraola, Maffeo, ?, Beasley - Mix, Poku, Lampard - Oduro/Barker, Villa, Shelton

Probably loan Celina there if he doesn't get any better options

They couldn't sign Beasley. Aside from that he's far too old and they really need a much younger, faster player, he simply earns too much money. His salary is $750k which is twice the maximum salary allowed according to the salary cap rules. In order to get him under the cap, they would have to either A) make him a DP, which is not going to happen for obvious reasons or B) use almost half of their $800k allowance to buy down his salary to the cap limit. This would then cause problems for all of the other transfer plans they are working on. Additionally, they don't really have any players they could trade for Beasley except maybe Mix, but that would be a pretty uneven trade, and Mix is too high-profile for NYCFC to be able to afford to let go of.

They are supposed to be eyeing up this player as their starting LB for the new season. At the age of 21 he's already rated as one of the best players in his country:

Why? Just for the mustache? Brovsky along with Wingert were horrendus. I think NYCFC has some decent players, but those two were AWFUL defensively and the main reasons we got walked on in the back.

They cant be as bad as last year, never seen such poor defending.

Surprised someone like Barker hasnt gone out on loan to them.

City won't send any loanees to NYCFC until NYCFC have sorted out most of their squad. No point sending them a load of midfielders, say, only to find out that that's the position they could've filled easiest with permanent signings.
