Must have been about three seasons ago, Mike Pickering was sat just in front of me with his son. Had a nice chat at half time.

It was well out of our hands iirc. Think we needed several dice to roll in our favour.

We needed a win and Charlton and Leicester had to both lose. In the event none of those three results happened.

Was it that Sven season we also went there in the FA Cup? 0-0 but that bent twat Rob Styles denied us two absolutely nailed-on penalties. At least one of them (on Vassell) was far, far more clear cut than even Sterling's last week.

That Sven first game was my favourite ever away day. The buzz and excitement after that performance was like nothing I'd felt in the previous couple of decades. MotD did try it on with their player placards they tried to fool us with but our performance gave us the last laugh.

Yes it was Sven's season, then we beat them in the replay.

I've been twice. Once wasn't even a city game - I lived in London- and the traffic as so bad we got there after kickoff, couldn't get it, climbed on a garage to get a view and all we could see were the Southampton fans wearing orange wigs in honour of Alan ball. So we went for a pint, got some pie and mash and went home.

I went once with City around the same time. I can't remember much apart from a good song song in the pub and losing the game 4-2. I've been to all the other London clubs loads of times but west ham always seems to be such a nightmare to get to I always swerve it.

I don't think Bojinov scored, but he looked very good, wikipedia says his first league goal was May 2009 (his only goal), then he left. In the intervening 2 years, played 12 games, most as a sub.

Great game that, there was a real buzz about the new signings. The first half of Sven's first season was a great time as a City fan, particularly after the depressing Pearce era.

It could have been, it was very much a long long shot for us to stay up.

I can't remember, by the time I got there we'd had a few (quite a few) beers. In fact I thought I'd probably hallucinated about how good the football was.

I've never had any bad experiences there if I'm honest, can't even remember seeing us lose there, and I wish I was going this year, but I'd forgotten they were moving, and was too late to order a ticket.

The former was considerably influenced by the latter, but it was a good start to a season (for us anyway).

I took my youngest daughter there as she wanted to do an away game where it was just the two of us, from 1--0 up we lost 4-1, she never went again unless the others were there as well!
