What happens if we don't' get top four?

One things for sure we fucked up big time announcing the Pep decision when we did.
We've been shit since then, 6th at best this season, another 4-5 defeats guaranteed
Perhaps you're right... but I'm not so sure.

IMO this has been coming for a long time.

Mancini was the master at pissing everyone off - his superiors and a lot of the players. He was right though a lot of times - but his interpersonal skills just made him enemies.

Pellers is the master at demotivation - no pressure, just do your best, everything's OK, and Oh, by the way, great performance but you're being subbed off to rest in our upcoming huge match; that hat trick you're working on... forget it - I'm bringing you off now to enjoy the applause of our fans.

Under Pellers our players have jobs. Put in the shift but can't wait to get home. Don't put in any extra effort... because it doesn't matter.
-------------
I especially like Mancini as a person (judging by his loyalty to our club even after he left) as well as Pellers (handling his upcoming replacement with class) - but as managers, they're both unsuitable for a club wishing to dominate its home league and win the Champions League.
--------------
Hard to believe we won't finish top 4 especially since we have the best "on paper" team in the league with the most depth by far.

I don't see us catching any of the teams above us.

So, to finish top 4 we'll have to outperform (or at least match since we have goal difference in our favor) ManU.

Remaining City fixtures and predictions:
Villa Home - win, Villa are essentially relegated
Norwich Away - draw - Norwich are fighting for their lives
Manure Home - win - Even Pellers can't demotivate enough to keep us from playing well enough at home to beat our arch rivals
Bournemouth Away - loss - letdown after beating Manure; Bournemouth don't want to go down
West Brom Home - draw - only because it's at home; WBA are not pushovers
Chelsea Away - loss - Chelsea are on the uptick - we are listless
Stoke Home - draw
Southampton Away - win - Southampton have nothing to play for
Arsenal Home - win - We will be fighting for 4th; Arsenal will be out of running for the league but secure for top 4; big game, we'll play well in spite of Pellers
Swansea Away - win - Swansea will have nothing to play for; we will be fighting for 4th.

Newcastle Away - draw? - Not sure about this or even when it's rescheduled for - Newcastle hare a decent side but seem determined to go down.

Wins 5 - Draws 4 - Losses - 2 = 19 points; 67 points at end of season.

67 points usually isn't good enough to secure a top 4 finish, but this season is crazy. I'd say we've got 50-50 chance of a top 4 finish.

I hope your right, I know we have not got a divined right to get a top4 spot but with the investment and players we have what's happening is unbelievable. All MP does is keep making lame excuses, like tiredness. I don't buy it, the guy's a fucking joke.

I'm not too sure it'll have that much of an impact. We can still offer big money for players, and with the new TV deal, attracting the best with the lure of Pep always gives us a good chance.

This club has shown we have bottle to come through adversity , our last two title wins are testament to this , i have absolutely no doubt we will finish in the top four and probably in the top two places , Arsenal are the team to miss out , they are proven surrender monkeys , amazed how little faith some of our "fans" have in our football club.
It is not about having little faith it is about being realistic ,so many teams have battered us this season it has been embarrassing ,we have just lost 3 league games on the bounce with 2 of them being at home ,the Manager is blinkered why he wont try something different is beyond me .loads of talent with the youngsters but he wont give them a go

I'd love to know how they feel about it.

Let's just say, for example, that Villa beat us. I think his job is untenable if that happens.

They are as cool as a cucumber but they'd have to act. You can't invest 200 million into a team that had won 2 titles in 4 years and not finish in the top 4. It just can't happen.

If we don't get top 4 we will be a laughing stock.

Personally I not totally bothered in terms of the actual competition but financially and also attracting the top players it will be a downer.

don't forget also we will then be in the same marketplace as Chelsea who don't look like getting top 4 either.

I hope pep has actually signed and no get out clause is available.

I'm confident we'll finish 3rd personally. Arsenal have Spurs away at the weekend, Everton away 3 days after their Barca game as well as trips to West Ham and Sunderland and of course, ourselves.

I'm putting that last night down to cup hangover/tired legs.
Get a result Saturday then weeks rest till Norwich, I think we'll get top 3 but think winning it has gone.

If we don't get four we'll try and improve the squad, try and win the Europa and do well domestically.

It won't happen but it wouldnt be the end of the world if it did.

If we don't get top 4 the players will lose a shitload of cash - approximately 24% of their max wad disappears. No CL qualification = No bonus at all.
Finish in 4th spot and it's deferred till CL group participation is confirmed. The bonus is paid yearly in arrears with part of it a cash sum on the players contract anniversary, Most are so thick they probably won't notice the drop till their contract anniversary.
For example Sterling is on about 160k a week basic 210k with bonuses.

I would bin every last one of the surrender monkeys that's for sure, shows how much KDB was carrying this team.
The axe should have been wielded last summer after last seasons disaster. Hell something should have been done the summer after Mancini was sacked - though FFP was weighing heavily against this at the time.
