How would season ticket holders react to compulsory CL home tickets?

Like they have at the rags and Arsenal.

If you're a season ticket holder then you're automatically debited for the Champions League games when the time comes for payment.

Edit - And if the price of the season tickets were reduced would this soften the blow?

I'd be severely displeased. How do they deal with you not paying? i.e. Your card is declined.

Would not be happy, I pay my money to watch us try and win the "Premier" not the "Chumps" League...

I travel from Dover so most mid week games are out. I try to make one CL game each season but if enforced to by all CL games I would have to do ditch my Season card. Result: net loss for City

A hypothetical situation: City reach the Champions League Final in a few seasons and you're offered a ticket. Would you decline?

The attitude is a defence mechanism for some. When we're doing well in it many will be begging for final tickets. Ever remember anyone speaking about our 08/09 Europa run in such away?

I can see it happening. A price freeze and bringing in compulsory purchases at a discounted rate would reward the hard core fans that don’t miss games.

I'd like to think most would kick up about it and stand up for their fellow supporter.

But suspect many would take the "I'm alright Jack approach" and do nothing.

I am in all cups schemes so personally wouldn't be affected but would still be against it. Fans should be able to choose. If we can get the club to a stage where prem league tickets are almost impossible to get hold of if you are not a regular than cups games should then be used to widen the audience by getting a different set of fans to these games where season card holders choose to stay away

defo against, not a fan of chumps league, i dont go the games and to be honest its down to cost, we have picked fa and league cup games instead.

I go to every game anyway, so it wouldn't bother me one bit. Supposing it wouldn't add much onto the cost of the season ticket I can't really see the problem. My season ticket (with platinum) works out around £20 per game. If they add another £60 onto the season ticket for the three group stage matches I wouldn't complain. Anyone who wanted to sell tickets on the exchange could as well which would help the blues who can't make it.

From a personal perspective I'm in all 3 cup schemes so it wouldn't actually impact me, in fact if anything it might mean I'm surrounded by more of the "regular" match goers like at league games as opposed to occasional attendees like happens currently in the Champion's League, which I find makes for a better atmosphere. However, as a concept, compulsory ticket purchasing doesn't sit well with me at all. We spent years having a pop at the rags for just such a tactic and I'd be loathed to see City go down the same path.

Any City fan calling it the "Chumps League" in this day and age should be given a ban from Bluemoon and the stadium and whipped with a holly bush in City Square.

It's the most prestigious football tournament in the world competed for by the best teams in the world. The only "chumps" are the ones who dismiss it.

Does the difference between Arsenal and Utd's schemes make a difference?

I think Utd's requires you to buy them extra.
Arsenal's is such that the ST includes the first 7 home cup game tickets, any cup including Europe. (so that could be Barcelona and Real Madrid in Europe, as easily as it could be Fleetwood and York)
