Ashburton Grove I assume?

Yeah that's the real name, although Highbury was actually called Arsenal Stadium so who knows? Interesting fact no.2: despite the digs about empty seats, the record attendance at Ashburton Grove is 100 short of capacity, i.e. They've not managed one full house in 10 years.

Nope, that's Highbury's official name. They'll probably call it that if they drop the sponsor though, although that's unlikely given the modus operandi of the club's board.

Just found a UEFA match report for one of their CL games this season and they do also call Ashburton the Arsenal Stadium apparently.

Is it UEFA or Arsenal calling it that though? The working name pre Emirates was Ashburton Grove.

If it comes from a credible source then that should settle the issue. Just making sure the same rules apply to everyone and that there isn't a different version for us!

Tbf according to UEFA Bayern and Dortmund play in the Fußball Arena München and Westfalenstadion instead of the Allianz and Signal Iduna Park.

Haha what a joke that is! UEFA against sponsors when their whole entire organisation is one big sponsor slag! They're just pissed off clubs have found away around their bullshit!

They're not against sponsors, they just want to protect their sponsors against conflicts. i.e. Heineken sponsoring the competition while somebody plays at the Budweiser stadium. Still doesn't work as none of the commentators or pundits play along.

Makes more sense really but still pathetic! Won't be long till the competition is like the super bowl, sponsors flying out their arses!

Working out the figures, does anyone know how much we can realistically spend in the summer? Is our finishing place in the league a big factor?
The media are talking about 200-300 million. I can't see that being the case.

We could spend 300m if it was necessary and the right players became available with a few offloads. It's £60m per season in capital charges (average contract length of 5 years) plus the net change to the wage bill, we're receiving that much extra on two seasons ago in tv money alone

Correct, we could easily spend 300m net if we take all the players on 5 year contracts.

Whilst our owner would dearly love to win the CL perhaps he is also interested in just making money like all his other investments.

I reckon we'll be allowed to self finance tbh, the city investment was always an exposure/prestige one, if he wanted to make hard cash there's easier, more effective ways.

He obviously intends to make significant amounts of money having already installed his Holding Company structure so I think you are correct. Lets hope so.
