Not coming in the Top 4 - it's ok!!

We are not same before but I think without CL we may end up with hungrier and also trouble players that had problem from previous clubs which I don't want to mention the names as all of them are gone (Robinho, Adebayor and Tevez). Hopefully we not have to build our club again from next generation of trouble players. Pep is the positive but without CL is quite negative. Do you think Messi will join us due to Pep without CL?
You can count the number of successful signings that have cost mega money on one hand. Tevez, Aguero, De Bruyne, Silva, Yaya.

We signed 3 of them when we weren't in the Champion's League and Aguero signed when we hadn't won a Premier League title.

Cheaper hungrier players have always been the best bet, which requires better scouting. Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany were all signed for peanuts. Mahrez was signed for peanuts. In 2010 whilst we were spending hundreds of millions on tripe like Adebayor, Dortmund bought Robert Lewandowski for €4.5m from Lech Poznan.

The myth that you need Champion's League to attract the best is a myth, we aren't going to sign Messi regardless and what good was Champion's League when we went for Pogba last summer?

Only this.

You get the feeling some on here are almost wishing it upon us.

Not at all, but you really can't see the Rags blowing it now after the umpteenth chance we've presented them this season. To rub salt in the wounds, they will probably win the FA Cup as well, after we blew the tournament off in preference for a competition we were much less likely to win.

Oh well, let's wait until Tuesday to see if the Gods will save us a top 4 place.

You've cheered me up, so thanks for that.

I don't think it will affect our ability to sign players but anyone saying it wouldn't be a huge disappointment to the incoming manager is wrong. This man dines at the top table every season and we have almost ruined this for him before he has even got here. It will take him 2 years to undo the shit work that has been done here and I'm not just blaming Pellegrini for that.

financially it doesn't matter but in terms of recruitment its a disaster.
I dont agree,i think much of our recruitment will already be done, the motivating factors being an opportunity to work under Pep and millions in their bank accounts.

Players go to clubs for the money the same as anybody who works. It is romantic nonsense to think anything else.
If we are not in the chumps league we may have to pay higher wages, but if we are not in it there is no reason we couldn't win the domestic treble.

To be fair, even if the scum were to draw or get beat. I'm not convinced we'd do our bit at Swansea. I'm resigned to the fact they'll be no champions league next season, and as painful a thought it is for now. I'm actually pretty cool with it, more pissed off that shower look likely to have beat us to it, but hey ho. It will be one season, I'm more excited by the prospect of Pep, and the fact we won't have to put up with this dross anymore. So chin up blues, draw a line under it, because we will most definitely be back even stronger.

Pep and the wonga will see to that mate.
Hopefully! He's the one i want too more than any other. Even if Neymar became available i think we need the central midfielder to take this club forward for the next 8 years more than any other player and Pogba is the one.

Imagine if he went to Liverpool because they were in the CL and we aren't!...

Midfield has been our biggest weak link for years now.

We need some serious upgrades in midfield and at both full back positions as an absolute minimum.
