and It's Michael again...

I still find it hard to believe we are always at the top of both the possession charts and most fouls charts.

We are 14th in most fouls committed (as of February but it won't have changed much) following a quick google check. Maybe that's why you find it hard to believe.

Yhp, another final day showdown against United and Mike Dean is in charge at the Liberty for our game. Don't know as a Dipper whether he'd prefer them or us but he managed not to give them easy calls on Tuesday and tried to help us out a little on the final day 4 years ago.

The EVER reliable Jon Moss gets the Rags game, whilst Marky Mark Clattenburg gets the Arse game. Saying that Dean has refereed 3 of our games this season and we've won all 3, whilst his last 3 United games have seen the Rags lose all 3. Hopefully history can repeat itself Sunday.

What's this nonsense that Dean "tried to help us out a little on the final day 4 years ago" against QPR?

Complete bollocks. Just sounds like a rag narrative to take credit away from our comeback.

5 minutes added time was on the conservative side for the amount of time wasting and stoppages. Not having that he "helped" us, at all. Complete bollocks.

Controversial. Good job you have never posted about curry.

I think some of you were mentioning "the hypothetical premier league table" with video referee factor, around January - February it had us up near the top of the table(or top can't quite remember), we've fallen off a bit and I'm not sure how that can be personally(there's been possible penalties against Mangala but sometimes he's just physically way stronger that's not his fault or a bad thing), the problem with taking that on it's own is:

a) A lot of the those decisions we could have got were in big top of the table clashes, or times when others dropped points... even if we didn't exactly put in barnstorming performances other teams have benefited from a lucky penalty at 0-0 or a point rescued ect(Leicester away, Spurs both ties). Some of the decisions could have changed the game for us but more than that to be still in the race would have seen us push harder to stay in it and possibly approach some games differently = possibly change the outcome of other games too giving even more points.

b) I suspect the person doing it is an Arsenal fan by some of his interpretations personally... even with replays you still can't rule out bias sadly.

You are also missing the very dodgy decisions that look more than a mistake,if you haven't watched the games back then you won't get what people are telling you so how can you stick up for the refs in that case then?

Who said I have not watched the games back. I go to 90 percent of the homes and watch all the match of the day or sky highlights. I allowed to say they seem fine to me? Even if they are not are we experts enough to rank them? Some weeks you will get a more experienced or better ref than other weeks. That's life. Am I missing something?

Feel I am the only normal one on here.

Both your eyes, according to some on here ;-)

I think I am going mad .i am on the wum for saying referees are human and doings good job. I go to the games and because I don't watch the full 90 minutes back on TV I am on the wind up? I watch highlights which generally show key decisions and apart from the Spurs offside I can't think of anything that has got me upset about referees in 55 games. So I am out too - shaking my head!!

Well let's agree to disagree. I have been watching city live for 35 years and not noticed anything different at all. Seems the in thing to criticise.

Whilst I'm sure that they would appreciate your empathetic stance, I think most officials would recognise that the pace of the game, together with the win-at-all-costs mindset of the Clubs, means that the game is moving at a pace that they are struggling to keep-up with. The only way they will address this is through full use of the available technology. In the meantime they are over-relying on nothing more than guesswork when making key decisions and, strangely, have a propensity to guess wrong when it comes to marginal decisions involving us.

Doesn't take away anything from our comeback, he could have screwed us or not done his job properly, after everything that had been thrown at us and handed to the Rags that season it was welcome that in the big game he played it fair and I think it did help a little.

There was a topic on here last night about posters being 'On something' !

Do you think refs cheat or are just shit? Do you think you could do better? I used to run a Sunday league and getting refs was impossible for all games. I can see why!?

Controversial because I don't think referees are corrupt? I give up.

I think they are not corrupt in the sense that they have their palms crossed with thirty pieces of silver, but I do think they are corrupt in the way they make decisions re the time of the offence, the place the offence takes place and the person who offends. There is so much variation that it is obvious they are not sticking to the laws of the game. One week they give the free kick or the penalty; next week a virtually identical scenario goes begging! If this is the 'human' aspect of the game it just isn't good enough, and hasn't been good enough for some time.

I am a great advocate of video technology being introduced into the game but I fear that it will be the same whistling wankers such as Howie Redshirt who will be given substantially remunerated employment to yea or nay an incident. His performances in that broadcasting shed he lives in has shown that he is no better at injecting an element of accuracy into the situation than he was when running round The Swamp at the behest of the old GPC.

Sterling handball against Spurs?

Stones clear as day bringing down Sterling in the box?

Navas clear as day being fouled in the box against Everton in League Cup?

Sterling tripped in the box by Clark against Villa?

Zaba getting only a free against Leicester when the foot that was taken from under him was clearly on the line?

I could go on.
