I genuinely believe that Stones is a good player who may turn out to be an even better one in the future. However the figures being banded about to acquire his services are just plain ridiculous. Personally I would sooner us buy Laporte from Bilbao he would be far better value for money for a similar amount of talent.

Yeah that's great mate but I'd still rather offer my own opinion on a player we're linked with rather than sit back and just go along with whatever the club fancy.
I'm not against it by any means but I'd rather not see us spunk the best part of £50m if it means we have to reign it on other targets. I still see both full backs as much more important positions to improve.

To be fair it depends on how the player has performed in the past. I would suggest if we were targeting say Varane there wouldn't be many negative comments!

As tons of other people have said I'll be trusting the judgment of Pep on players rather than a bunch of bitter evertonians who know Stones is leaving and last summer thought he was one of the best defenders in the world.

These things always get particularly overplayed with English players. Same with Sterling last summer and all season really. Some of our supporters haven't changed in decades.
