Predictions on the referendum

Lol, many polls have repeatedly shown that the most important issue for those wanting out of the E.U. is immigration.
That's as maybe but there is a huge difference between concerns about immigration and the blanket, rather extreme right wing statement about hating foreigners.
Most outers don't care about the economics they care about immigration and hate foreigners.

As such the vast right wing press, who are hammering over the top lies about immigration and migrants, will swing it to the out vote.

(The owners of the right wing press don't give a shit about immigrants they just don't like the E.U. because their laws prevent the owners from buying up every media outlet and creating monopolies).

So just to summarise then, most of the 50% ( give or take 5% either way) of the UK population, let's call it for arguements sake approx 20 million people, voting to get out of the EU dont give a fuck about the economy and hate foreigners, I'm glad that's cleared up.

Like I previously posted, I think it will be tight - do they do polls on expected turnout? Are they expecting more or less people than a Genral Election?

85% for the Scottish referendum. I don't think it will be as big for this one.

In the run up to elections they usually have polls on sky news with various different sources claiming what they expect. I haven't seen anything yet. Anyone know why?

There has been alot of polls, ones from late giving leave ahead

My internal swingometer is telling me that Remain will win the day. Can't say I'm best pleased about it but then again it's hardly Paul the fuckin octopus.
Outwards and Upwards.

That's crap. There is thousands in Calais, many more risking their lives from Africa to get here. We can afford to have them here, and enjoy a discussion. Fact is the government does have control, Brussels don't "make our laws" and the nation would be fucked without immigrants. Johnson, gove and farage are simply fucking chancers. Opportunistic tossers. Buying into what they spout makes you as even bigger idiot.

Not sure i agree with that tbh, we have many issues here that need attention, pretty severe ones to so i prefer to walk before i run.
I hear all the time there is not the funding so where would the funding to sustain all these people come from?

Almost guarantee that in one of the polling stations 200 fucking idiots will turn up to vote at 21:59 and then kick off that they couldn't vote - and bbc/itv news will just happen to be there

I expect a win for Remain - possibly bigger than expected. Why?

You recall the polling before the last election? Hung Parliament and all that - result - Tory win. The polls generally get a response from people who have something to say. A lot of Tory voters and supporters didn't register their opinion when asked as they were effectively going to stay with what they already had - albeit cleaned up a bit by dropping the now dead body of their Lib Dem support team.

I suspect the same is happening again - Brexiters with lots to say and shout about are all too happy to say what they intend to do when asked and when that boosts them in the polls they get more and more confident. As has been said on here before its "easier" to sell change to people - harder to express what yo already have and maybe take for granted. However I think on the day the Remain voters will come out and make their voices heard and we will remain in the EU.

Leave is doing much better in the latest polls than Yes was, the weekend before the Scottish referendum. If Leave lose, it will be by a smaller margin than Yes

I never listen to polls as I don't think people are honest with them. I've never been polled, but I know for a fact I'd lie to them, as I'm an arsehole.

Brexit would cause too much pain for the Big Money interests. This is not just about politics. It’s about Big Money. Way too much financial risk is at stake here.
By hook or by crook, Brexit will fail. Power settles everything.

The propaganda will work and shift more than enough ‘leave’ votes to the ‘remain’ side to bring a victory home for the ‘remains’.
The political elite won’t have to manipulate or nullify a victory for the People. No tampering or sleight of hand necessary.

But even if the ‘leaves’ win the vote I believe most or all of Brexit would get nullified down the road anyway.
