You can tell he's nailed on for city as he can't even get in this England side now ahead of Smalling. Woy just won't pick him now even if Smalling manages to give away stupid free kicks on the half way line time after time, and use his massive chest to cushion the ball pathetically back to Joe almost letting the Slovaks in to really embarrass us. Say's it all really, not part of Woys clique and he's coming.
I don't know about this anti-_City conspiracy you speak of. But if some none City player is being benched because he is simply linked to City. One would expect players who actually play for City to not even get a call up.

But low and Behold, our very own Raheem Sterling was given 2 starts in spite of average performances and seemingly playing ahead of other superior players on the bench.

Perhaps, Woy is just a poor evaluator of talent and not necessarily anti- City.

Not living over here and being immersed in the media here you just won't get it

I'll be astonished if Stones turns out decent so I hope this doesn't happen.

If we need an English player then Rose, Walker or Dier would fit well.

I hope in the future we'll develop our own home grown players because almost every one in recent years have been of a very low standard. The truth is that the English squad has 2-3 players worth having and the rest or mid-table types (like the Irish, Welsh, Scottish, etc). The Euros are only making this more obvious than ever.

Pity Stones isn't playing though....maybe he'd show something on that stage to change my mind and others who are similarly unimpressed.

I will have some of what you're smoking.

All of the England games were exactly the same, other than a bit of luck against Wales we were toothless and that includes all the time Raheem wasn't on the pitch!

What pray tell is wrong with this post now?

The fact that English players are generally mediocre or that Rose/Walker/Dier are the exception?

Or that Stones isn't impressive?

Think your right about Stones not looking Impressive at the moment but you could say the same about Walker and Rose 12 to 18 months ago then hey Presto they get a top manager, they look very confident and impressive.

I'd be cool with Stones if he was either more impressive or less expensive. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised but that's what I said about Sterling. Lets see if Pep truly is a miracle worker.

might be pony but the boiled bollock on talksport this morning said he had a text yesterday saying stones is a done deal

i hope so, we shall see

Hoping this will be sorted soon, whatever the price is. Stones has a much higher ceiling than Laporte, and the Basque defender obviously didn’t have the confidence to move to a foreign league.
