I'm really looking forward to seeing this lad devolop under Pep, he's got all the credentials to reach whatever level he desires.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and predict him to be a regular future England captain, he's the closet thing I've ever seen to the great, late, Bobby Moore
I said it weeks ago this lad will be future City & England captain. He has the lot & under Pep he will learn fast & become one of the best in Europe...

Barca, UTD, Chelsea & others want this kid so he can't be that bad. £50m is a big transfer but that's with bonuses so let's hope Everton get the full amount because we will have trophys in the cabinet in exchange

Be interesting how he will react to the media witch hunt that will inevitably come after 1 mistake [emoji848]

Looking at the transfers and bids going in this summer from premier league teams, £50m is the equivalent of £30m last summer. Absolutely insane, but look at the rejected ones for Deeney and Ighalo for a start.

For Stones, I share your concerns and, if you go back a couple of hundred pages, I said exactly the same. However, I've started reading the Pep book and I'm starting to think differently. I'm still in preseason, but on his first day, Pep identified Boateng as a player with real potential due to his comfort and ability on the ball. He therefore set about coaching him and, after a few weeks, discovered that Boateng had never been taught to defend. Not tackle etc, but to realise that everyone is supposed to work together across the defence with support from the midfield. He was just playing on instinct.

Now I look back at Stones, particularly playing in a Martinez side where no one defends and it suddenly seems much less a risk.

I hope of this too. If anyone can get the best out of Stones it's Pep. However it is a process and I would like that be reflected in how we are paying everton. He's not exactly their fan favourite there were times last season their supporters called for him not to be played.

I hope you are right because 50m is too much for a defender who could not find a place in that poor English team in Euro 16, and it is similar to Mangala situation.

So you'd prefer Smalling or Cahill? Or Shrek in midfield? Just because Roy was an idiot doesn't make the players who didn't get picked bad.

£50 million - I'm done

I'm reliably informed that if Bony goes the other way the payment structure will rely on Bonys goal rate.

The value of the deal "£50m" is based on Wilfs transfer value plus cash. £10m is offset against performances.

I don't know the exact figures involved but let's say for example if City win the title we would need to pay Everton an additional £5m, but if Wilf bags 20 goals, that £5m will be cancelled out.

This is a complex deal, so I wouldn't expect it to close quickly as it stands. If Everton decide not to take Wilf, then it makes the deal easier to put together...

And do you think they'd sell if we offer something really low and then raise it? The£50m will include performance clauses, just like Sterling's does but the press seem to forget that when it's us

But we'd be stuck with Wilf!

Seriously I wanted him to work out but it's apparent he won't fit in, and I'd rather wait a week or 2 and see him go to Everton than try to find another buyer who'll pay premier league prices.

Also a bit of fudging the transfer numbers could be good for Stones. If no one is really sure quite how much he cost he won't get the same burden as Sterling.

Same here mate, I was desperate for it to work out for Wilf. I met him during his first interview & photo shoot at city. Really top class fella. He must have been signing autographs for staff for the best part of an hour.

Wish him well where ever he ends up

Talk about complicated,it would be easier to just buy but Stones and sell Wilf seperately

Probability Bony going there must have gone down as Lukaku had a very poor Euro tournament.

I think EFC need to sell Stones to start their own spending if the comments about FFP are true. They need bankable revenue to offset potential expenditure regardless of whether the owner has free cash. So I can't see Everton stretching this out. I anticipate a deal to be done in the next fortnight as Everton look to get their own Summer spending underway

Fucking hell so we'd have to rely on Bony scoring goals to get some money back?!

Or have I read that wrong??

Sort of.

Not to get money back, but the final transfer fee would be based on city's domestic and champions league performances, in conjunction with Wilfs goal return for Everton

That's what I'm hoping, that £50m is inclusive of a generous list of addons. but if £50m is upfront. for me it's not at this moment fair value for a player who at times made lapses in judgment that ultimately cost his team the game. He is a great outfield player and technically strong too. But £50m is asking for a flawless performer and we are expecting that in our next CB upgrade. £30-35m with performance based addons around £15mil would be fair, though I doubt everton would bite.
