The next Prime Minister of Britain

Do the Left have their own version of the Godwin Law in relation to Maggie?

How has Andrea Leadsom got anywhere near being PM??
I'm gobsmacked.
She's very highly rated as a politician by her peers and from one of the safest Tory seats in the country. People inside the party could've told you she could be PM one day, however I doubt many thought it would come so soon.

Not that highly rated considering how many mp's didn't back Her. In what way is she highly rated as a politician (genuine question, not being snidey)?
Has she ever done anything of note in decisive decision making? I know Cameron also came from 'nowhere' but at least he was a good speaker and said things with conviction. Leadsom is just a complete nothing in comparison, and a wet lettuce.

Good lord. Rock and a hard place...

Theresa May for me though. Need the experience she offers.

Agree she needs a better cut and colour...

Absolutely nothing of note as far as I can glean. But she isn't keen on 'the gays', is a committed Christian (like Blair) and hates the EU (except when she is for it) and talks cheerful nonsense. Throw in the fact that 75% of the Parliamentry party want someone else to lead them then Leadsom is an absolute shoe-in as far as the party faithful are concerned.

Corbyn is going to look at her and think there is light at the end of the tunnel after all.

Based solely on her performance during the referendum campaign, there is perhaps a case for promoting her to the cabinet. Give her a middle a ranking post, say Secretary of State for Transport. If she does well then in a few years promote her to one of the 3 big departments. That would still represent a rapid rise. Its the idea that, as a consequence of performing well in a few television debates, she deserves to be promoted from Minister of State for Energy to PM that is ludicrous.

Being against gay marriage and pro fox hunting, is pretty backwards and distasteful in my view. Will possibly appeal to the dinosaurs in the Tory party, but hopefully not many. She's also against HS2 by the way, so much for the northern powerhouse.

Who ever it will be he/she will be the sacrificial lamb once the article 50 is triggered then he/she will be outed within 12 months.

And its hardly surprising looking at the candidates hardly a beauty contest and pretty much a dead rubber when you look at the calibre of them. Once they've got us out of the EU and pretty much destroyed the UK into just us and the Welsh the likes of Osborne, Boris and the Asian guy who looks like a badie from a James Bond movie will be scrapping to become next tory leader. Personally I couldn't give a shit because by then I will have left the cesspit of a country that we have left.

She has also offered an olive branch to Farage to come and help out. So if she does manage to win the poison chalice having Nigel in as her right hand man and bringing back hard ring UKIP the defectors as a priority.
