John Stones

I think John Stones isn't worth the fee right now. But that's not the point. He can be worth well over that amount, and he will be if Pep gets the best out of him.
And besides, transfer fees don't really matter anymore. The club can easily afford £50 million, as can almost any Premier League club if they really want to.

Correct the thing that matters is squad size. Far more limiting to our plans than money.

Fair enough...though that undermines your overall point that we shouldn't be undervaluing our players.

I don't have a value for Kolarov other than the minus of his wages.

Bony imo was one of the top strikers in the country when Pelle the Clown signed him & is potentially worth more than most of the players for whom clubs are asking 25 30 mil.

I understand your point and I don't disagree with it in theory. I think in practice it falls apart though. Kolarov has a value that is more than his combined wages. Maybe not more than 1-2 million but it exists. So to give him away to free up his wages...we would be getting rid of a player at a discount. Not a big one and not as big as the one we may have to sell Bony at .... but it still is a discount because we HAVE to sell. I certainly would like to see Kola go before Bony though...

Your more than probably right.....and out of choice Leicester may prefer Bony to Deeney, Palace may prefer Bony to Benteke and both happily pay the same even slightly more for Bony....however they have to pay wages and Bony is certainly on more than Deeney (probably more than Benteke, don't know for sure) ....then they become better value for clubs than Bony. Higher the wages...smaller pool of clubs that can afford a player.

Maybe, but the point was regarding Bony being 'in the way' of players coming in. Imo we ship out the players of little value or those who are easily transferrable before taking a hit on Bony.

He is potentially worth good money or, if necessary still a useful aseet to the squad, in spite of his lack of form so far. He still got us some crucial goals & if he stays in the Prem & does find his old form, we will have a shitty time playing against him.

If he's part of this deal, I hope we don't get the piss taken.

Or the wages just get rolled into a discounted fee.

I can only see EFC wanting Bony if Lukaku goes. As far as I know no one has expressed an interest in Lukaku.
