Gabriel Jesus

I think when we hear of an emerging Brazilian talent we immediately expect to see tricks and skills right away, I'm sure he has them(he's Brazilian he'll show us some) but maybe he's more about the end results(goals, assists, off the ball movement etc) at this moment in time. Nobody would be writing off a European talent in the same way for not immediately having a highlight reel full of tricks and nutmegs for us to gush over.

MLS has same number of points as the Brazilian Serie A but they are very different. MLS is retirement place. Brazilian Serie A is shopping place for other league looking for cheap good players and new star. That's why their players remaining in the leaque are very young or very old.
Brazilian leaque is quite physical, they use big defenders mainly not to kick ball but to kick striker. Gabriel copes with plysical challenge quite well. He has pace and skill and also hard working similar to Kun. I like Nacho but I think he still cannot cope with physical challenge very well and I think if we wait until Gabriel goes to play in Europe, his price tag will be double.

Can one of our Brazilian posters please assure me that this is bullshit?
its been posted a couple of pages back that his agent has confirmed CITY are in advanced talks with him. It's also been said many times that he really wants to work with pep and he's even turned down Real Madrid to do so.
so even if that story is true( I'm 99% sure it's bullshit btw) why would he turn down Real Madrid yet accept an offer at the swamp?

United are so desperate. The likes of Hazard and Oscar began to regress under Jose not a good manager to develop under. Also what's going to happen to Martial/Memphis? It makes no sense and if they really wanted him, they wouldn't have jumped in so late.

.

I wouldnt worry mate.....read the lad wants to play for Pep and even his agent has confirmed things almost done! Rumours always seems to happen when we close to getting it over the line!
it's virtually every time we're close to completing a deal for a player, the rags have offered more etc... It's just made up bullshit from the media. I'm convinced city could feed false information to the press about a player were close to signing then BAM a few days later "United to make bid for...'
Not sure why so many posters keep falling for it.

Unless I'm mistaken, United's name only popped up after it was confirmed that we were heavily interested. Could just be that they are using them to speed up/squeeze more money out of us.

That seems the most likely scenario to me, but you never know.

Things have been looking good for us but what really worries me is that if these rumours are true about the scum desperately trying to scupper the deal by throwing money at Palmeiras, isn't there a risk that they could push Jesus to the rags if we didn't match the bid?

If that happened and we refused to match the bid, all that would need to happen is Mourinho making a similar phone call to the player as per mentioned in the article and that could swing it.

I'd say we're still favourites but this is beginning to worry me now.

If the Rags are spending £120m on Pogba how high would they bid for a player that's said he wants to work with our manager?

I was totting our dealings so far and our expected signing fees, I think we are doing pretty well considering what we could end up with:

IIkay Gundogan £21m
Nolito £14m
Zinchenko ?
Marlos Moreno £8m
Sane £30m +Add-on Bonuses
Stones £50m

=£123m give or take a few million

G. Jesus for £26.8m hopefully will be enough unless his club or agent convince him to go to the highest bidder but we should be able to compete there too.

Life's too short to panic about hypothetical situations mate. If we get him then great, if we don't it's not the end of the world. Most of us probably hadn't even heard of him six months ago.

Cristiano Simões (47.5%)(agent) , Fábio Caran (22.5%)(agent) & Palmeiras (30%).
Who do you think wants more out of the deal that's holding it up?

Too much like common sense, that, Ric. You should ban yourself immediately

True, time will tell. This lad is obviously a huge talent though, no doubt.

My real problem though is that I've been using his apparent snub of the rags as ammunition via text, will really come back to bite me on the arse if we miss out..

My fate is in Txiki's hands now.
