Down in the tube station at midnight.
Being reported that 2 people took hostages in a small French church, then slit the throat of the priest who was giving mass. Both of the shouting 'Daesh' on entering the church suggests they are ISIS inspired, if not ISIS directed. Both of them are dead. Troubled times ahead.

Is there was reason that these things seem to have stepped up in the last week or so? Any specific order by an isis leader?

Daesh is a derogatory term for ISIS. Why would anyone who supports them shout it? Unless it's another bunch of "ISIS-inspired" morons who are too thick to even know the basics of the ideology they claim to follow.

“The battle group, which includes the Charles de Gaulle, will again be deployed to Operation Chammal… because we have to strike back at those who attacked us here in January and November 2015,” Hollande said in a speech in commemoration of Bastille Day, according to Reuters.

The French carrier Charles de Gaulle (R91) will re-deploy later this year to continue strikes against ISIS in Iraq and Syria, French President Francois Hollande said on Wednesday.
Hollande, said “we must strike and destroy those who aggressed us here” in two sets of attacks ...

Even the Daily Mail don't appear to claim the Daesh shouting, and describe the attackers as 'Islamic' (including the inverted commas).

Where has the reference to Daesh been made in the reporting?

And there was me thinking that calling them names like daesh or starting reports with "so called Islamic state" and colouring faces in a French flag would make them think twice about carrying on with the attacks.
