It never ceases to amaze me how fans think a new player with a decent record in a very bad league is going to be better than someone like Sterling.

It's the same sort of thing as people who want Hart to be dropped from England - they see a player like Butland with no record at the top level, and think it's better than a player with years of experience who's hit a rough patch.

Watched him vs Japan the other night and he wasn't great but I'll reserve judgement for now. Hope to see him more at the Olympics and coming friendlies. Seems he has a good relationship with Gabigol on the pitch as they were attempting 1-2s and flicks every 5 minutes..

We've done brilliantly well to get this lad by all accounts, very exciting! Just interested to know what his squad situation will be, all the articles mention that he won't be joining us until December. Does that mean we will have to allocate a squad place to him, or because of his age will that not be an issue?

Apologies if already been covered, but the age and squad criteria for domestic and champs league always confuses me.
