I suspect Pep persevering with Kolorov at CB is a sign of things to come. My guess is he will start the next two matches in that position.
he isn't saying that though is he...he is saying that without the players to play that way we will struggle....and we could well do so with the likes of kolorov/mangala/tosin zabba playing........
Kompany and sagna will be ok at it ...otto possibly.....
this is clearly why we are in for stones
Teams will push on us knowing that Pep will play like this ...if we have the players then fine...if we don't then Im not sure why he would continue to do so knowing it will cost us goals and lose us games
My hope is that the midfield options will be much better in competitive games and that this will help the playing out forth back as well
That isn't how it read to me.
And it won't matter to Pep, whether we have the players or not, he will keep at it until it works or until we get new ones. Same as we kept at it with the academy teams util they learned it & started winning everything.
x3 ;) bright future but as Pep said, he's not ready! Pep going need time to teach the lad before we can throw him in on Saturdays.
Agree that this pre-season was awfully planned on the club's part and seemed to be driven by a need for more money.
it won't work with some of those players so we will either have to use academy kids or new players...im happy with either but I think we might have to lower expectations of what we may win for a season if that is the case....still stones and Company will make a huge difference (and otto maybe)
Yes because Mane is fucking world class. Straight swap for KDB and Silva?
They're two different passages of play. Just because the defender makes a mistake doesn't mean we should just shrug our shoulders at the next stage where Hart should be making the save. Had it been tucked in the corner then fair enough but it was nowhere near.
The ones failing to see the errors because they want to back Hart are far worse than those saying he should be doing better.

Kompany is injured, do you know why Mangala and Otamendi didn't travel? We have 4 cbs none of whom were playing & may be buying a 5th.
He hopped from side to side a lot.How did Nolito do? (Couldn't watch the game:)
How about his paper wrists for the 1st?
Need a goalkeeper as an absolute priority.
We played it out the back reasonably well in the first half, but there were a couple of major sloppy moments. Willy isn't good enough overall.
When Joe came on we hardly played it out the back at all, and he was at fault for two of the goals. Easily beaten on his left again for the equaliser, and a poor starting position for the 3rd, slow to react and come out as well.
Ter Stegen is a must, IMO.
Other than that I was impressed with our energy and the manner in which we kept possession in the first half. Promising signs there.
Looks like we'll be going 4-3-3 against Sunderland, Fernandinho holding and Delph and Silva in front of him.
Just desperately need to get Stones in, and fingers crossed, Ter Stegen. Pivotal as the foundation of the side and the way we're seeking to play.
