Trott for me. She's well on her way to becoming Britain's best Olympian and she's still only 24.
 
Just watched that controversial boxing math and I'm no expert at all with boxing but that Russian swung at pure air at leat 20 times and some were embarrassing imo, so on that alone I don't get how hed win but let's play devil's advocate and say the Russian did legit win first round and the Irish lad won the second ( which he did dominate ) there's no way on gods green earth did the Russian unanimously dominate that final round. Obviously fixed.
 
I live in Farnworth, from where Jason Kenny is from, NOT Bolton. We've not a lot of to be proud of, apart from Alan Ball. But by Christ, we are proud of this lad. Well done Jason.!!!

That's what got me checking it out, he came across as genuine and heartfelt and I loved his brutal honesty and the fact the news channel didn't censor it.
 
The Brazilian sports fans are some of the worst in the world. Booing Lavillenie as he got his silver medal, I understand cheering your countryman on but booing a great champion is a joke, especially in athletics where athletes train to be the best and put on a show for the crowd.
 
That Irish boxer was robbed. I no nowt about boxing but so obvious.
Felt sorry for the wonderfully named Grabarz he jumped and the white flag was raised then bar fell off.
Edit decision reversed and Grabarz jump is allowed.

Tandem racing should be an Olympic sport so Jason Kenny and Laura Trott could win gold together, they're like some sort of medal factory!

Well done Laura Muir for having the courage to go all out to try to win gold in the 1500m rather than settling for bronze, even though she ended up with nothing. ...and a big well done to Michael Johnson for having the balls to say what a bunch of shit bags the Brazilians are. It's bad enough that they booed the French guy in the final of the Pole Vault but to boo him on the podium as well just proves that not only are they bad losers, they don't even know how to win gracefully either, that's if they can be arsed turning up at all. This Olympics is rapidly turning into a monumental PR disaster for them.

Well said. I think sport has taken huge steps forward in recent times in this country. We seem to have a strong desire to win and you can see most athletes looking very disappointed when they haven't won gold, even if they've won a medal. That's crucial. It's what has made countries like the USA so successful and Australia punch above their weight in terms of success v population.

The rowing and cycling has been sensational and cycling has prioritised the Olympics. They've made sure they peaked for this competition and had a disappointing worlds but have smashed it this summer - they're a different league to all other teams.

Long may it continue. Amongst the political arguments and crap we've endured with the EU and Brexit and political infighting, it's lovely to smash it at the Olympics and forget all that bollocks.
 
It's going to be a close run thing with China for second place in the medals table.

We're on 20 golds at the moment, three in front but they've got another potential gold in the Wiff Waff final today.

We may need Mo, Tom Daley and the women's hockey team to deliver if we're going to hold them off.

I think one of the Brownlees, Jade Jones and possibly Nicola Adams are our other realistic gold medal prospects.

Both men's and women's relay teams have a chance of a medal in the athletics but i doubt it will be gold.

China could clean up in the diving.
