Kolarov for me, true he wasn't put under much pressure but he was usually the one trying instigate some meaningful attacks in the absence of any real creativity in the midfield. Delph took his goal well but he and Fernando were a bit disappointing in the middle.

Like Stones as a footballer more and more each time I see him so have it him as the best footballer on the pitch.
Thought Kola did well (said between gritted teeth as after last season I was urging us to get rid).
Great support for Joe from the crowd and admired his response during and post match.

Delph may have run around a lot but how many times did he lose possession and how may times did his running create space for a pass.

I've not checked the stats but IMO that game showed Pep to be right to miss him and Yaya out of the 1st games.

Stones for me.every tackle and header won and... didnt give the ball away once. shades kolorov in that respect.

It's literally not even close for me. Kolarov was brilliant. The fact that Pep has made Kolarov a MOTM candidate in not one but TWO in just four games, on the back of the 15/16 season Kolarov had is conclusive proof that he's the best manager in the world. Fantastic CB, genuinely, squint your eyes and you're watching a prime John Terry but with better passing and moral values.

Still amazed at kolorov transformation. motm for me. Funny game overshadowed by Joe. Was so impressed with his interview. Very classy. Don't think Yaya, Fernando or Delph did themselves any favours (for different reasons). Yaya looks really lean but no longer has the energy to press effectively. Don't think it's his lack of effort. Also, he slowed us down other than two or three exquisite passes, but that's not enough. I expected him to play a bit more like Kolorov did (can't believe I've just written that). Delph and Fernando just don't have the distribution and speed of thought required. Thought they both worked their socks off though and was pleased to see Delph making more dangerous runs in the second half. Beginning to look like a strong squad though with the first team coming from 17 players for most games I would think. Only area I think we could hit problems is defensive/ central midfield. I think we would struggle if Dinho/gundogan hit injuries.

Kolarov again!
That crossfield pass 60+ yards that bent across the centre circle and out wide right straight to Navas' feet had me shaking my head in disbelief.

For me it was Maffeo. for such a young lad to come into the team and perform so well just shows then we may have a future left back/wing back ready for a place in the 1st in the near future. I hope that when the EFL Cup against Swansea comes along. a couple of the younger players may get a game.
