United away - pre-match thread

Think due to their height and aerial threat, Kolarov should start at LB and Sagna at RB(shorter than zab but much better in the air), add them to Stones and Otamendi and that should be more than enough to counter that threat.
 
No question we have to improve our away form and the head-to-heads against those around us. Starting with the derby. Getting a draw away at OT is the minimum, personally I think we'll win because we are a better footballing unit. Last year's match was a bit lacklustre to say the least. Improvements on that 0-0 are guaranteed. Really looking forward to it, I have high hopes and expectations.
 
Football vs Mourinho- this is what this game should be titled. In theory any decent football-loving fan should be supporting us. Anytime that sexist scumbag gets away with parking the bus, it's a defeat for football.
 
It's very interesting the options we have, in a very good way.

We have to try Iheanacho at some point. This is an opportunity. Pep will decide.

I would take a draw now,being without the best striker in the league does weaken us and to say otherwise is wishful thinking. We are a far better footballing side than them but their physical strength and height will cause is problems. No doubt we will get a few suspect decisions against us as is the norm at the swamp.

Not a chance Yaya is going to feature in this game. He is simply too ponderous these days. Obviously we might have trouble with the obligatory dives around the edge of the box, but Stones and Otamendi are both strong in the air so I think we can handle it.

I think one of the peculiar features of this game is that I can't see us being susceptible to a fast counter attack. I don't see that they have the pace to worry us in that regard. So I think we can push up without too much fear.

Its intriguing as to how Pep is going to set up. In a bizarre way not having our best striker means that Mourinho will be having kittens trying to figure out our likely formation. In my opinion Pep won't start Kelechi, and might start Nolito in the middle with Sterling and Sane on either wing. I am also hoping that Gundogan comes on at some stage.

It's all guessing games but I think Mourinho will be fearful of us and will play a very cagey, defensive game.
