Niall Quinn

I've met him and had a few drinks with him, top bloke and def a blue but I can't explain why his views on City when on Sky are so disparaging..

'Gold dust at Old Trafford' though? It's a bit much.

I really like Niall Quinn, childhood hero and all that stuff. Met him about 2 years ago and had a great chat about City and the Maine Road days and he had nothing but positive things to say about City. I don't buy in to him hating us, but I have to admit some of the recent comments about united have been pretty hard to take.

What he says to a global audience for his paymasters is perhaps more telling about him than your nice private chat.

With what he's says about City on sky then he's definitely a ****.
He might say nice things in private about City, but if he doesn't have the balls to be fair to us when he'd on the box then he can fuck off.
Hope City kick the twat out of our hall of fame too.

I'm of the opinion that Quinn says and takes the stance which his bosses tell him to take.

He does it for the money and to further his media career.

It's not the most ethical thing to do if youre giving an 'opinion' which you don't even hold, but he's probably not super rich, so just goes along with it to get a better life for his family.

Principles??

I was watching a bit of the Jim Shite Transfer Deadline Day and they all looked a bit surprised when Quinn answered John Stones to the question of which was the best deal this window.
Merson chose some old Swedish guy.

Nice to see Quinny bigging us up again. Hopefully it should keep him In the hall of fame a bit longer.:-)

If I recall correctly he was the only pundit on TV who backed us on the whole FFP sanction nonsense.
Yeah but there just wasn't enough "stardust" or "goldust" for me so I'm not sold on him not having bias against us. I think Sunderland is his favored club rather than United to be honest which is fair enough as long as he doesn't overplay on his City links to add weight to his negative opinions of most things City.

Have a listen to his commentary and tell me you don't notice: 1) City on the attack = quiet as a mouse, barely talks, monotone when he does a lot of the time, 2) Opponent has a good spell in a game dominated by City = excited, enthusiastic, sighs of disappointment when it amounts to nothing "ooooh if only he'd have spotted the free man on the other flank he would be through, such a shame :("

Some might prefer to ignore these things perhaps it makes them feel more rational to brush it off as nothing(multiple times, every week) but people aren't just making it up there is a pattern with Quinny(throwing in the odd positive comment once a blue moon means very little) so people aren't being that unreasonable to at least question where his loyalties lie(ok there's some over the top remarks but I think most of it is for comedic effect). He doesn't seem like a City fan to me but does he need to be? It was probably just a job to him and that's fair enough we'll have other former players who do have a genuine love for the club in the media before long such is their profile.

They love lining their own pockets after a mediocre career at city. Just get rid of Sky or you are part of the problem.
