Derby post match thread 10/09/2016

Not that anyone gives two shits... But this is what I posted in the pre-match thread on August 31.

I think we should win. Really wish we didn't have to wait so long in between games. I think its too risky to start Gundagon and/or Sane. Not in their first game back from injury, playing their first match with a new team in a huge derby. 5/5 so far no need to rock the boat and switch things up too much. Play the same team with Keli in for Aguero, Kolarov in for Clichy. Unlike Gundagon and Sane, I think Bravo should debut.

2-1 win. DeBruyne and Ihenacho to score.

I was spot on with the score, the goal scorers, and the starting XI (with the exception of Zab/Sanga).

Pep if you ever lose your temper and get suspended for punching Arsene Wenger or something I'll be happy to fill in as caretaker manager ;)

Cluadio Bravo didn't fill me with confidence today hope he improves for the game on Tuesday. How is he any better than Joe Hart I really don't see it. Bravo could have cost us the game today but we held on to win. So it is onwards and upwards.
Because before that fuck up he was instrumental in an assured performance at the back where the Utd players were getting very very fucked off indeed. Then he did the howler and got nerves.

It was a derby, it was his first game..... that explains the nerves imo.

HAS PEP GONE YET ?

Brilliant!

Wasn't De Gea crap when he first arrived at the swamp and to be fair he turned into a decent keeper
Bravo will learn from this game
Oh, if you read my posts you'll see that I think Bravo will come good.

Let's be honest, in terms we can relate to, Bravo's experience today was the equivalent to starting your first day at your new middle management job at a new company and being told that your boss (who hired you) has just been sacked and you'll be taking on his role, which includes dealing with an official inquiry into the company's operations and a PR debacle.

If you are good you'd say "right, let's get to it" but that doesn't mean you wouldn't fumble around a bit and make a few mistakes.

He will grow into the league and will soon become a crowd favourite.

Put any money on it?

Apart from the win, the greatest satisfaction comes from the footballing decline of the team from Trafford. They were aesthetically abject and that makes me smile. A lot.

They were the same as Stoke under Pulis. Zero creativity and long balls and elbows and shirt pulls. How long does it take for their fans to realise they are as poor as it was under Van Gaal. ?

You're up there with Paul the Octopus

Convinced Rooney told Clattenburg to fuck off after he got booked. How he gets away with it is mind boggling. Thought they were told to send off players who abuse the referee.

Cech was shit for Arsenal for the first few games as well. It takes time to know the defenders and get the communication going

Clattenburg was our MOTM. Besides refusing to card Rooney until he had little choice he refused relatively easy options to give a penalty (even if none existed).

Our players were very good too.

I'm a bit lenient on him today. On another day, he could've sent off Bravo and gave a pen for the ball hitting the back of Otamendi's hands.

i saw the interview on nbc and he never even mentioned them.....was that on the sky interview...what was the second penalty he was talking about as I'm guessing the first was rooney and bravo 50-50?

Second one was ball hitting Otamendi's elbow.
