Do you give a toss about England?

So the F.A are picking the team right ?
So aside from Rooney (in your view and who's been dropped) which players are the FA picking ? What incentive is there for them to do this ? What proof do you have of this ?

And let's not forget before Allardyce got the role - he was the one person according to many on here who would not get the job because he isn't a 'yes' man.

Do you honestly reckon if you had the job and picked your chosen squad you wouldn't get the same dogs abuse thrown at you ?
It's a lovely old fashioned view to have if you think that any England manager picks a team, and picks it on merit. We live in a corporate sponsor driven world, and no more so than in national football. Do you really think that Rashford would get into the national team after about 20 mins of first team action for United, or Jesse Fucking Lingard, or Wayne Rooney. No way. There are tickets to be paid for and kits to be sold and rags do that, and dippers.
As for Allardyce not being a yes man. The FA's heart was not on givign that job to him, as shown by their failure to do it the first time round. They werent exactly inundated with options and high calibre applicants. The way they jumped all over the chance to get shut shows it (although of course rightly so). They wanted Southgate to have it but didnt quite have the balls, as it doesnt show the right ambition or whatever. Now he has a chance to audition for it and if he does OK in 4 games will get the job. It was a golden chance for the FA.
As for evidence, look at how these people belong to the same sports agency representatives. Same as Hodgson did incidentally

Ok Mark couple of questions for you.
1) are you happy with the current England teams performances?
2) are you happy with the choice of manager currently?
3) are you content with watching the style of football on show?
4) is winning qualifiers but failing at every international tournament good enough for you?
