Anyone seen either, Henning Wehn or Ross Noble ... Live ?

I don't tend to watch much TV comedy anymore. Lee Mack seems a very intelligent bloke though how he keeps it fresh for TV appearances, live shows and his own TV show. Don't think I've ever heard him repeat the same joke.
Lee Mack seems to be one of the old school naturally witty comedians. A lot of good comedians are actually just really good writers who might not necessarily be that funny in real life, whereas I think people like Lee Mack are just really quick witted (as well as being pretty good are writing a routine too).

Don't know how Comedians bring themselves to deliver the same jokes night after night - imagine thinking up a good joke and telling a mate nearby, then repeating it to everyone else you know - you'd feel a bit of a tit when it's lost its impact to yourself in that first moment.
Because they're massive geeks about it and are constantly tweaking the act to get the maximum impact for each joke. It'd probably be pretty interesting actually, because it's not like being an actor, where you literally have to deliver exactly the same performance every night.

Has anyone seen Nick Helm live? He seems straight out of the Johnny Vegas school of stand up and as far as I can tell, you either love him or hate him.

Aye I remember being a bit taken aback by how sharp and witty he was with hecklers, really funny. I get the impression the way comedians approach their craft varies a lot, so yeah I'm sure some change it up for themselves as well but the way Jason Manford delivered was pretty much identical when he was repeated ones I'd seen on TV which was even more disappointing.

Post away!

There you go bob.

I've been to see Ross Noble a few times and always enjoyed it. Although it does seem very off the cuff, all is not as it appears, I watched him in Manchester and he then had a cinema screening of the same tour and a lot of the same stuff was worked in. That said it does seem to be personal and for that show when there and he is still very interactive and quick as he shows on HIGNFY.

Anyone seen Russell Howard? He's doing 10 dates at the Albert Hall plus others all over the world next year including the Arena. Is he that good? There's some youth on here...he always appears a little shouty for my tastes.

Just got 2 tickets to see Stewart Lee, my missus is a fan so taking her for her birthday. Seen his stuff on TV and cant say im a fan, he's definitely something i should like but he just doesnt click with me

Do yourselves a favour

Stewart Lee is doing 4 nights in Salford next year.

Some of the stuff he's done is fantastic, but on the whole I am not a fan. He's a proper smug twat who thinks anyone who doesn't laugh at his jokes doesn't get him and isn't intelligent enough to appreciate him. The Braveheart gigg he did in Scotland was ballsy as fuck and piss funny.
