And yes; I know we have a separate history forum on here. However, that day marked such a seismic shift of power that it deserves remembering in the main forum.
What a Legend![]()
What a day
There is an argument that those last 5 minutes, when we rattled in 3 quick goals, won us the title as it represented a 6 goal swing between us and our lovely neighbours. And, of course, we won the title on a better GD of 6 goals. And gave us a GD boost of +10 relative to the rags.

You're right. It's a fucker getting old, the memory starts to go.I think it's a fair argument. Or Gd was actually 8 better. If that game ended 2-1 to us, we would have had exactly the same goals scored and conceded for the season. So the last three goals meant that they couldn't catch us and didn't attempt it in their last two games v swansea and sunderland.
I think the semi final started the process of change but out lovely raggy friends got all excited when they beat us 3-2 in the charity shield. With the cleverly master class. :) (what happened to him?) The 6-1 me them realise that we were now massive. :)

Presumably an argument that is extraneous to the laws of mathematics. There is an argument that those last 5 minutes, when we rattled in 3 quick goals, won us the title as it represented a 6 goal swing between us and our lovely neighbours. And, of course, we won the title on a better GD of 6 goals.
