Justifies the decision to rest so many players midweek. Fortunately Pep sees the bigger picture. The players were looking very jaded of late. The break clearly freshened them up and gives a huge lift now for Barca.

Back with a bang,excellent first half then seemed to drop off second half giving West Brom a few chances,but then picked them off with gundogan's two goals,hopefully this win gets the confidence flowing again,looking forward to the two home games coming up now Barca and boro..

We did drop off, as you say, but at least we didn't go on holiday. It was a satisfying day all round, IMO.

Well in that case, should we not have 'rested' players today in preparation for Barca on Tuesday? To some the champs league isn't important, to others it's the be all and end all. I had a cracking day out last year at Wembley beating the scousers on pens so it's all about opinions really but thanks for your help pointing things out for me anyway.

No. because the PL is the top priority and will be until such time as we are winning it every year. Ffs.

Sadly some can't see beyond beating Trafford . It's a much bigger picture for our owners and Guardiola .

Excellent first half, so-so second half, especially from the walking liability at LB who seemed on a mission to avoid tackling anyone. But other than that, very encouraging to see us passing the ball at speed again with proper interplay and intensity. Again we were much better when we aren't playing 3 at the back, even if it means Fernando as a surprisingly alright RB, we look so much more sure of ourselves. Great to have Kun back on the scoresheet and shutting up the weirdo's who were inexplicably writing him off. More of the same please

I don't think that was the case with the rags today. They didn't look tired just burnleys goalkeeper kept them in it. Even if we played a team like the rags did on Wednesday we would of won today, if we scored first.

That's what was important today - scoring first.

I think we'd have managed a good result today with wednesdays line up and i think we'd have also beaten Utd on Weds with today's lineup. 8000 City fans shouldn't have to pay to watch 2nd string imo and it's always nice to get one over on them ****s after all the defeats i've witnessed over the years.

We were lucky not to concede, and we all know what it's like when that happens. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure we'd have still scored again but I'd just like to see us be more clinical in putting sides away when we are so dominant.

Loved the game mate, so I'm not being negative, just unnecessarily nervy for that part of the game.
