Yaya Toure - 2016/17 performances

Considering he's played so little football he did very well. His passing was on a different planet to anyone else on the pitch today. Good job he turned up on a day where lots of our big players were simply dreadful. Really important 3 points too.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. Aguero, Nolito, De Brunye and Fernandinho were miles off it today. Yaya actually held it together in midfield and mostly found the pass. Then the addition of Silva and his busyness and ability, helped to see us to victory. Well done Yaya... and well done Pep.

Sam Lee apparently spoke to Seluk last week and he said he's trying not to say anything that will upset City, maybe it's worked. Makes you think why nobody had the bollocks to do this before.

Toure was given a standing ovation by his City team-mates when he entered the dressing room after the match. What a turnaround

Pep tells the BBC that Yaya is now the "perfect weight", "amazing in training sessions" and his "behaviour is absolutely everything".

Pep says "we have one more man to help us achieve our targets" and that Yaya will help with the rotation of the team. Sounds like he's back.

Full marks to Yaya, specially as he is so lacking in match practice. When he leaves, it should be on a high rather than with all the recent shit colouring his achievements.

What a bell-end comment.

Quite.

The guy clearly didn't see the game.

Absolutely delighted for Yaya to come back and hit two really important goals for us. Goals win games and he delivered when it mattered.

But this is another example of the Match of the Day type casual fan like ChrisDunk not really understanding the game. Yaya got ran all second half by Palace. They were streaming through the middle and our right channel because they knew Yaya either couldn't or wouldn't track them.

It's the least control of the midfield we've had all season. We really missed Gundogan or Silva in there today to control the game and not give Palace such an easy ride when they had the ball.

I thought Nolito for Silva was a strange sub, but Silva was excellent when he came on, got on the ball in tight areas and took the pressure off the back 4.

How anyone could have watched us all season and watched the full 90 today and thought the best thing to do in future is drop Silva for Yaya is just beyond credible comprehension.

Agreed. That would be the preferred option for everybody I would guess.

As long as he's motivated and puts the effort in then he's an important player for us, said it at the beginning of the season.

It's a long season and anyone saying he would be of no use are basically demented

Well, put me in the demented group. Anyone joining me?

Go on then, I'm in.

yeah im in
