Shit comment. Yaya acted like a ****. He's come back and scored and won us a game. It doesn't change the fact that he acted like a ****.
I suspect his critics cheered as loudly as any other City fan(I know I did), because they are City fans and not Yaya fans.

Nail.

Head.

Yaya is done for me. But if Pep plays him, he has to produce. Credit to him, he scored 2 goals yesterday, but IMO did little else.
I still won't ever clap him coming on or off because of the way he and his agent have badmouthed our club. Cheering any goals he scores is involuntary though!

Great shout.

Read this post 3 or 4 times now and I still can't make head nor tail of it. I think either you've quoted me in error and you meant to quote someone else, or you were pissed out of your head when you made it ;-)

Convergence at the point of danger?! What the fuck? It sounds like a Chuck Norris straight to video film from the 80s. Don't really know what you're on about.

I'm not sure if you watched the game, but Yaya wasn't playing at the apex of the attack. He was playing as one of two central midfielders alongside Fernandinho with DeBruyne in front of him and Aguero in front of him. He was nowhere near the apex of the attack.

I did watch the game and as I said he won it for us! His quality and his eye for goal was the difference between the two sides. He's a match winner and often steps up in decisive moments. He's one of my favourite City players ever and has been instrumental to our success.

THAT'S GREAT THAT ALL OF THE OUTFIELD PLAYERS CELEBRATED HIS GOALS, I CAN'T REMEMBER SUGGESTING THEY DIDN'T? I'M REALLY HAPPY FOR HIM, HE DESERVED PRAISING BECAUSE HE WON US THE GAME.

The point I was making about him being a liability defensively was aimed at a poster who came on and criticised Silva because he's not scored decisive goals like Yaya has. If you read back through the thread you'll see that. I was merely pointing out that while Yaya can be a match winner he can also be a liability defensively.

Talking of Pep, he demands control of midfield and today was the least control our midfield has had of a game all season. We looked vulnerable when we didn't have the ball and I personally think a big part of that was because of Yaya's lack of mobility. I appreciate it's his first game back and he needs time to get back up to speed, but even at his collossal peak he wasn't the best going backwards, he was just so good going forwards that it didn't matter. He's declined further going backwards but clearly still has the quality going forwards.

It's up to Pep to decide if on balance he is worth the risk. I trust Pep on this one and don't expect Yaya to play against any of he top 6 barring an injury crisis.

If you know what 'convergence' means and 'point of danger' and shackle them together, you might just have a chance at understanding some part of the team play(hey, it's what Barca used to do very well!) Even, bless 'em, MoTD pundits explained that Yaya played at the apex of the midfield, so if they understand that, surely you can??

Always further ahead, drop in when he could, but also had Kev de B, Sterling, Nolito and Fern buzzing around him... wait for it... "converging at the point of danger" or around their counter.

Not very well today, but hardly all Yaya's fault, eh...?

the main reason Yaya gets stick on here is because of his agent..

they forget how influential he has been and the moments he has produced that has won us games, cups and leagues.

apart from Kun i cant think of any other player who has produced match winning performances on a consistant long term basis like has

he is also very rarely injured and if he is he either trys to run it off or he will be back in a week..

he also thinks far more of the club than people on here think.

Whilst I agree, how many on here cheered Tevez after his shenanigans?? Not a fan of Yaya's behaviour, but he got on with it as has Pep. The difference being Yaya didn't fook off playing golf for 6 months, he stayed and trained with the team.

Think you are right, but the fact is that Toure totally indulges his agent - which is why so many ( myself included) are upset by their collective antics and outbursts. He is in danger of spoiling his playing achievements and legacy at the club.

Exactly, I will not be applauding him, as I didn't applaud Tevez after his debacle. Ok YaYa scored yesterday but who's to say that someone else wouldn't have scored if YaYa hadn't been there. We will never know, yesterday has gone, next week he may play against Burnley and do his usual YaYa walk about like a stranded Bushbuck or he may still be trying to repay some of the money we've been pouring in for him to mess us about. We shall see.

You can still cheer someone and think they acted like a **** bud.

I think he has split loyalties between the club and his agent as his agent has been with him since the beginning of his career..

He has gone from being a bit of a journeyman to being one of the best footballers in the world..

His agent has helped him make his vast fortune, so IMO he feels he owes his agent everything.

Maybe the answer for Yaya is to give Seluk another role where he doesnt get involved directly with the club ?

I would imagine this would be better for Yaya and also much better for us..

It would not surprise me at all if Yaya ends up at New York to finish his career, he would be amazing there and we can still support him at the end of his career.

If thats what happens, it would be the least he deserves for what he has produced for us since the takeover.

We missed two penalties against Everton so the chances of another player scoring twice against Palace are pretty remote.

I don't understand people's loathing for Yaya whe less talented mercenaries like James Milner have been hero worshipped.

Milner is a first class cnut who kept his mouth shut whilst at City ( unlike Toure/ Seluk ) but couldn't wait to jump ship having totally pissed the club about.

I could happily watch the twat get some serious abuse from our fans. Especially considering the club he left for .

Maybe because James Milner never let his agent slag off Manchester City? He might not have been as 'talented' as Toure and maybe he did appear to be a mercenary, but footballers have a limited time to make their mark/money and as long as they don't say anything against the club that I support good luck to them. When I got the chance of a job with more money when I was working I went for it, yes I thought about it and was sorry to leave but I had 4 children to support so I got on with it and that is what Jimmy did, but without the 4 children!! ;-)

Plus who is to say that Toure wouldn't have missed those penalties? We will never know any more than we will ever know if someone else could have scored goals yesterday.

Spot on CBB

We obviously don't know the inside track, but keeping Yaya as part of the family strikes me as a smart move.

He has a global reputation & is still the #No1 footballing icon on the continent of Africa.

He & Kolo give half their earnings to The Toure Foundation in Cote de Ivorie

Milner was a multi-millionaire before arriving at City. Daniel Sturridge is arguably the guy who left to secure his future and he gets dogs abuse from us.

Yaya hasn't said anything against the Club. He's been the most important player in our modern history. I can't stand the agent bit that gobshite will think he is doing his best by his client.
