Anthony Taylor appointed ref for Chelsea

Just had a look and his record refereeing us seems to be 6 wins 3 draws and 1 defeat, (Leicester) last year.

Yes, because refereeing bias usually manifests itself in things as obvious as awarding the opposition 4 penalties per game whilst disallowing 5 City goals. I dare say that our record with most referees is similar, if only because we're one of the best teams in the world

John Terry could be refereeing the game and he'd see no issue with it.

I'm not sure he even watches football at all
I often wonder what he does watch for him to be so out of sync with the vast majority of CIty fans. At one time I had my doubts whether he was a actually a blue but a few regular posters have vouched for him, so I think he needs our pity.
He previously posted under the name of pigeoneo, who had the reputation for being a bit of a WUM so perhaps he is still at it.

About the same as the chances of a known rag being selected to an officiate a City game against a title rival I expect. Not wishing to indulge you - as I'm content there are plenty of referees out there who aren't biased; incompetent perhaps, but not biased - but that's 3 absolute stinkers in a row. Madley, Marriner & the 'Altrincham' fan. When we get shafted on Saturday, feel free to chalk it up to random chance.... ;-)

Personally I just think football has become much quicker, more simulation and due to the number of camera angles, and 24 hour football news, pretty much every incident is scrutinised highlighting mistakes more than ever before.

I also think its almost impossible for a ref to be able to witness incidents and get them correct even in the vast majority of instances. Whether that should result in the introduction of video refs I do not know but if the game is to be less influenced by referees its probably the correct route.

Bournemouth of late have been on the end of a few bad decisions but I find it difficult to think there is a bias against them.

It is a shame we cannot revisit matches from the past and review decisions, with the latest technology, to see if there is now a huge drop in standards of refereeing.

Incompetence of refs cannot be argued but in all honesty I think its an impossible job and task.

No I have never posted under the name Pigeonho as any moderator can confirm right now. It speaks volumes about you that you would make something like that up.

As for needing help, for what exactly? Unlike some I have the courage of my own convictions and as yet no one has named a bad decision by this ref against us and like others have said is not one of the worst out there.

Ha ha! Just for kicks and giggles Frank, why don't we play a game? Taking it in turns, I'll name a City game when he's given the opposition everything and you name one when his decisions have broadly favoured us.....

Leicester (H) last season.

Over to you......[/QUOTE

I would be lying if I could even remember his performances accurately. Nothing stands out either way if I am honest.

You're being disingenuous in so much as in the absence of an obvious Clattenburg style outrage (like the penalty for handball against Sterling vs Spurs last season), you know people are going to be unlikely to be able to recall more minor incidents, and that the overall handling of City games is what the main concern is. And on that score I can remember two games when he gave the opposition virtually every 50/50 decision - Leicester and West Ham - in the Leicester game there were things like not giving Zabaleta a penalty for a trip right on the line of the penalty area (he called a free kick about an inch outside it), and awarding a goal kick instead of a corner after a shot by Silva took a deflection to the tune of about 30 degrees. He shouldn't be refereeing our games and nor should Mason

Get help Frank.

I actually agree with you to stop this type of debate he should not be reffing a game involving a Manchester club because it lends itself to accusations of bias/cheating etc.

Its not being disingenuous Exeter but the feeling on this forum is he is corrupt and a red, I have just not seen or read any evidence to support it.

But like you say based on his proximity, a Silva shot or a possible pen not given can lend itself to that where if it was a ref from far away it could be chalked off as a genuine mistake.

Don't mind them Pidge.

I have just watched the Zabba trip, repeatedly, and I could not say with certainty if it was a penalty or not. For a ref in real time that would be a near impossible decision.

Another pointless contribution
Pretty much every city fan believes there is bias, in the way media reports on us vs other historee clubs, refereeing decisions in general (especially insidious minor things like allowing opponents to foul away while penalising city players at the first opportunity) or the whole ffp fiasco.

You don't believe it, fine.

What is pointless is haunting a thread like this and getting riled yourself, and annoying others.

I have seen that bastard mason run over the width of the pitch - actually run! - to yellow card dzeko for dissent.
Why? Because dzeko was fouled, and had the temerity to look towards him, hands outstretched, lip still bleeding from the elbow he had suffered.

We watch matches and read reports, and form our opinions based on what we see, not just blind devotion to city. Kindly don't come over and talk down to every fan here as if we are simpletons.
