Gundogan - Back training 26th June '17

I just can't imagine a world where you play on with an ACL rupture, even for 5 minutes. Unless it's a partial, which for a pro footballer they'd have to reconstruct anyway.

Sounds like it could be even worse than first feared:

It says that's just the primary diagnosis and they'll know more in the next few days.

I feared the worst when all the players on twitter made a point of saying "get well soon" in their post-match etc. - It just felt like it was big for them all to mention it.

Happens all the time. Walcott came back on the pitch when he ruptured his in the North London derby a few years back (The one when all the spurs fans threw coins at him as he was stretchered off holding up "2-0" with his hands)

That was January 2014, and he returned in November 2014.

Real shame as I think he is a brilliant player.

Lots made of the tackle but it looked accidental to me and its just one of those things imo.

Hopefully its not as bad as first feared and we get him back sooner rather than later.
I must admit when I saw the incident, I thought it was a deadleg. If it is as bad as we now fear, I'm surprised he carried on, unless it was during that time when the real damage occured. Will be a big loss for us.

Does anyone know how the Watford player who went off in the 1st half is? The way he got injured seemed to be very similar in that he went down after an innocuous looking twist, got back up and hobbled round for a bit then went down again and limped off. If he has done his ACL as well then it seems a like a hell of a coincidence that 2 players picked up the same very serious injury in roughly the same area of the pitch within 10 minutes of each other.

It's very common to be able to carry on playing on an ACL, it's only a stabilising joint so if you're just jogging around you don't notice it much, it's when you try to sprint or turn sharply, or otherwise twist your knee that it becomes apparent.

Yeah thot that myself, did anyone else notice a suspicious looking character standing on the grassy knoll by the corner flag.

Holebas? He was walking about after the game on tunnel cam but, as domalino pointed out above, that doesn't necessarily make it any less of an injury.

Never seen Fabian and Aleix in the same room. Just saying.

So, provided they are two different people, our options will be:

Delph
Garcia
Fernando
Fernandinho
Yaya
Zabaleta

Anyone else?

Α Transfer Maybe. Koke is a good solution (Marca wrote about him) but he wouldn't play in Champions League game.

Is it the time for Garcia ?
