Four? We'd only just about get three for what we've recently spent on defenders.

Clichy had higher rating yesterday than all fullbacks ( Bellerin, Monreal, Zabaleta & Sagna )

Maffeo was MOTM against United, and I was surprised why Pep didn't reward him with another chance to prove himself !

Pep generally seems to be very careful with the youngsters. You could say the same about Kelechi and Sane for example. Let's trust that the man knows what he is doing.

I definitely think a leftback is more urgent than a rightback. What I don't understand is why we keep going after high profile youngsters who no one heard of a season ago for high fees. Are there no scouts?

Would be absolutely pointless selling him in January plus he's out of contract at the end of the season, had a decent game yesterday and is stil handyl to have in the squad even if we could get a new left back in the next window.

I trust Pep in all cases but two:

1- When he plays Sterling on the left
2- When he plays with 3 CBs

I'm sure most of us do trust him but playing people in there correct position seems to be something he likes to mess about with , Maffeo looks to be the perfect solution to our problems at right back, don't think we need to spend a fortune in the market when we have this kid he looks the real deal to me

Looks like barca and Valencia have agreed a fee over Cancelo, 30m euros. Not watched him enough to say whether I'm disappointed or not that we didn't go for him, probably reliant km others moving on first, but from what I hear he's ideally suited to a system that requires him to keep on the move and add to the attack.

Full backs are such a gamble, look at Rahman for Chelsea - he completely bombed as did the Atheltico FB (forgot his name)...

For what its worth I think we have had good value and invested wisely in Zaba, Clichy, Sagna anf Kolarov.

Felipe Luis? One of the top 5 left backs in the world, performed at the very highest levels and it's not his fault, I'd blame Maureen. An attacking full back with the defensive capability to excel at Atleti, I'd love him here.

Thats the guy, for what its worth I agree that he is excellent.

Point was that you can buy the best FB there is and you cant guarantee that they will work out.. i know every signing is a gamble but I do think FB is the hardest position to buy for.

I know it's not going to happen but I would LOVE Michel Antonio at RWB. Rated him for a couple years now. He reminded me of Micah a few years ago the way he would bomb forward when I first saw him. I've always like West Ham for some reason.
