I'm actually fairly confident. In most "high profile" games this season we've put in good displays, even though we've not always won (barca x2, United, Chelsea, Arsenal).
The only games I've felt let down are spurs and Leicester.
You never know what the result will be - I think it will come down to fine margins (de bruyne v chelsea) but I think we'll see a good performance.

Put it this way. I wouldn't take a point if it was offered now.

I prefer to be an underdog with sucker punch right on the balls.

It's funny, part of our problem is that everyone who has played us since the take over feels like an underdog. It's why we end up with sides like Burnley putting in a once a season performances against us.

Even the top sides do it. Bayern when they came to the Etihad and passed us off the park in Pep's first season in charge. Read plenty of people say that was one of the top 3 performances they put in under him.

I know everyone wants to give it us.
They're all bitter.

Hope yaya is bang up for this one, if Liverpool press high yaya will play us through it and we'll fuck em. Yaya doesn't play and we start passing it around our own penalty box then we're in trouble
Agreed. also if Yaya and KDB continue to build a connection, they'll be deadly. hope for liverpool we line up with yaya next to fernandinho... sterling kdb silva sane up top

Silva will be a waste in this. Much rather have KDB central with sterling and Sane on the wings.

Pep won't leave Silva out. My hope is Sane plays and it's Dinho, Silva, KDB in a central three with Sane/Sterling on the wings. No Yaya. Harsh on the big man but that would be what i'd do.

Mate, reading some of the posts in this thread you'd think we're a plucky newly promoted side. Amazing how little credit people are give our manager and our players and how much they're bigging up the scousers. Like you say one point between us but apparently a gulf in class.
I don't think they're a better team than us at all. It's just one can nearly guarantee they will play their game if the season against us at home every year. They've had some massive hard on for us ever since we got money.

There's a long, long way to go after this game irrespective of the result.

That renters & dippers have a tricky set of fixtures coming up. It's advantage renters at the moment and it'll be a huge help not to have any Euro distractions in Spring.

One game at a time for us,win at their place and who knows ?

Time for some realism & pragmatism on here instead of some of the thoughtless hyperbole.

CTID.

I'd say United, Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal are bigger matches for us Liverpool fans.

Both Rodgers and Klopp do well against teams that has a high line and likes to pass their way out from the back. It fits the high press very well. The only time we didn't look good against City was when Klopp decided to use Sturridge up front and throw away the press game.

It is why I'm fairly certain that Sturridge will not start.

And often City has used slow and immobile DM:s, such as Fernando, Yaya or Fernandinho. They have often ended up chasing shadows.

It surprises me that so many want Yaya on the pitch. He is seen by many Liverpool supporters as the weak defensive link. Even our Joe Allen haters used to joke about "The only player Allen could bully was Yaya".

Some fair, but arguable, points in there but I agree that the way we play leaves us open to defeat by a team that gets its tactics right. The other side to the coin is that, when we are on our game, particularly in front of goal, there's no living with us. But it's true that we haven't consistently reached that level. Yet.

Fernandinho - slow. Fuck off la, some candles need lighting somewhere I'm sure.

Has joe Allen ever bullied anyone, or yaya been bullied....gave me a laugh on the way to work anyway pal! We shall see Saturday nite at 5.30, either way despite what some may think the title won't be decided whatever the result.

Got a good feeling we will get the job done, keep them contained for about 25-30 mins and then get at them
