David Silva - 2016/17 performances

I sat and wathe him for 10 minutes today.
Just the great man not the ball or the game.
The ground he coversion is amazing..he fights to win the ball.
But when you watch the way he controls the ball and lends it to another player for a minute.
What a footballer
 
Different class last night.

What a difference when there's more legs around him (De Bruyne, Sterling, Sane), in a slightly deeper role too.

Silva has to be played as an 8, not a 10, from now on IMO.
 
Thought he was absolutely superb again. In the second half at 2-2 we were all over the place and needed someone brave enough to get on the ball and slow things down and the little maestro took on the responsibility. He again made a mockery of those that say him and DeBuyne can't play together. They compliment each other so well they both play at 8. They both bring something completely different.

Would have got MOM if it wasn't for Sane being out of this world.
 
Amazing again. Our best player this season.

He's so good to watch.
 
Masterclass yesterday, must never move out of the 8 position,
Wow!

His performance yesterday had everything, tenacity, vision , guile, Dave deserved 3 points yesterday.. It was beautiful to watch.

If we line up as we did yesterday, with Jesus in we can still get something from this season.
 
I criticise him so its only fair to come on and laud him after an utterly fantastic performance yesterday.

Disciplined and for the side, exactly the sort of performance Pep wants from all his players.

Agree, he was excellent playing in the 8 alongside Kev. Weird that it's taken Pep so long to go back to that formation considering how successful it was at the start of the season.

It demands a lot of the two wingers and Kun though because you lose some of Kev's goalscoring danger when he's deeper.

I've not been as 'hot' on Silva's recent performances as others have. For me he's continued to be inconsistent and gone from being class to being anonymous from week to week. But hopefully Saturday was a return to a position where he feels he can contribute in against any opposition and more consistently than when he's switching between left sided attack and number 10.

Glorious it was,

Kev was also in the mix from time to time, quality and intelligence over athleticism. Everyday and twice on Sunday. The spurs mid field was nonexistent.

I would not won't to see any variation of the midfield 3. Really gets the best of all the players.
Just need that quality and intelligence all over the pitch.
