    United facing sex abuse allegation

Exactly. Those who make tribal comments about this (and similarly about City in the infamous case) are undermining the most serious of issues. Imagine that was you, or your son. You are so happy and elated that you are on the path to living your dream. And for that dream amd your life to be...

Does anyone wish we still played at Maine Road and why?

I miss it a lot. We moved to Eastlands when I was 23, so almost half my life playing there (eek!). But Maine Road will also be home to me. First game, first City goal, first win, first promotions, first standing, first chants, first pints at the ground. Etc. And you never forget your firsts.

    Manchester Masters

Easily the best of the 4 sides, on paper anyway. Not surprised we won it. I went to one in 2009/10 ish. Pretty sure we didn't it but I remember we beat United 4-3. Summerbee, Simmo and Brightwell played for us (99% sure). Carl Griffiths, potentially! Rest is a bit hazy....

    Happy 75th Birthday Asa Hartford

I know of 5 blues around my age (mid 40s) in the Manchester area named Asa, after him. And there will be more. Must be a weird little anamoly/bump in the baby name records that will have had some local bureaucrat scratching their head (if they weren’t a football fan)!

Which City game has annoyed you the most?

The 3-3 derby 90/91 season still p*sses me off now. 3-1 up with 12 to go after a 5-1 the season before. White had hit the crossbar with a bit of a sitter on his hat trick IIRC. Then gifting that duffer McClair two late goals. I was so gutted. Also felt a bit of a sliding doors moment.... We...

    Utd 1 City 6 OTD 23/10/2011

The contrast between the die hard manc blue and dilettante cockney red said absolutely everything.

Brentford (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Dias, Haaland, Nunes best three players today. 1st half best we've played, pinging it around (building on Monaco where we did the same in parts). 2nd half lost a bit of confidence on the ball and the game became tense. But stood up really well to set pieces and they never really looked like...

A Farewell to Txiki on City+

Just watched it and really enjoyed it. Great seeing the relationship Pep, Txiki and Ferran have too. Not always easy working with your mates in such a high pressure industry. Does give you a decent idea as to why he has been a great DOF and will be a tough act to follow.

    Classic City games

Was at that one...great away day. Didn't score 5 away often in those days!

Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

I only went to about 9 or 10 home games in 2001. Was in 3rd year at uni and had less time than first two years! So probably the season I remember least about since 86. Like you said, we had 4 or 5 good players. Though when you look in detail the two players with best PL careers were Dunne (who...

Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

I was born in 1980 so don't remember 83. But seeing the squad and listening to my dad (endlessly!) talk about it, they should never have gone down. Similar story in 1996 too IMO (just gave ourselves way too much to do after horrendous first 10 results). 87 and 01 both not great sides, but there...

    9 | Erling Haaland - 2025/26

He's now scored in all four opening day fixtures since he arrived (with braces in three of the games). And he's scored the opening goal in each of them too. We need to appreciate what we have - an all-time goalscoring monster.

    MCFC Songs and Chants thread

The Haaland one to Stop Crying Your Heart Out (You Can't Stop Erling Haaland) is an absolute no brainer. Get it going in the pubs and it will follow on the terraces.
