They didn't turn their noses up at it, they provided the club with details about members who wanted to relocate ages ago. From what I remember, they asked the club for assurances on pricing and the club wouldn't do that. Atmosphere and pricing have a direct correlation so you can't really blame...
"successful completion " is quite vague isn't it? can't help but get the feeling that it's still contingent on bodies. I'd be interested in seeing any coverage of attendance tonight after the last two days of depressing news
A mate of mine works in events, and told me that the club were only looking to book music acts for the Co-op event from Sunday, which is ridiculously last minute even by their standards. Think this has all come together at much later notice than people would expect.
i've got a mate involved in the events side of things, spoke to them yesterday and it seems like it's being pulled together really last minute so I doubt there'll be names that big unfortunately - unless they get moved by last night's revelations..
still well over 2,000 tix left in the standing area, would've thought they'd sell quick with the Pep news after going to members etc. maybe people put off by idea of ridiculous drink cost in the Co-op
makes some sense logistically, but does feel like it could be a misstep with attendances for both being smaller than they could be. miss the old parades
From the email the club sent out, where they're only releasing 50% of Villa tickets, looks like I may have been right about the capacity being tied to 2x the test attendees
i imagine there's many more members who have a ton of disposable income and/or live nearer London and also potentially bots/touts who'll buy with the intent of selling them on
They may make a push but if fans were going to buy it they'd have done so by now, largely. Big ask to get large numbers of Blues who live outside Manchester to travel in for something that isn't a match. We'll see, I might be wrong.
given it looks like the test event isn't going to sell out (think i saw a seat counter say only around 1500 sold/left on sale) do we know if the amount of tickets they can sell for Villa is tied to 2x the number that attended the test event?
