Yes, sorry I wasn't specifically referring to City, we as a club can clearly handle this financially. What's boiling my piss is clubs like Spurs, Newcastle, Norwich using tax payers money to subsidise their non playing staff wages, while the players keep getting paid in full.

So the tax payer pays the low paid staff but the highly paid players get paid in full? With a half decent accountant I'd bet the players take home yield is close to 60% of salary a 30% cut is close to neutral. The difference is the club has a lower wage burn so can pay all its staff.

Everyone that can do it, should do it, all the ones you listed and more. this is where we find out what these people are really made of.

Its a good question, in theory easing the financial pressure on clubs finances due to player wages SHOULD mean that the clubs can directly support their non-playing staff directly and avoid job losses, furloughing etc. There is no justification for any football club to be accessing Gov support...

What I think is wrong is the taxpayer picking up the bill for a companies low paid workers, while its highest paid workers continued to get paid either in full or at 70% of their wage. The club/player contracts are irrelevant in the face of a national health & economic disaster. Unenforcable...

Just read the thread, yep its a valid point point like I said, I think he may be overstating the tax paid. If he's been paying that much tax, I'd be thinking about a new accountant.
