Although we are definitely a level below last season, last nights game was almost a perfect performance in that we nullified the Madrid attack to a couple of attempts including their goal but unfortunately failed to take what few chances we created.
It’s a pity that Rodri and Foden are both...
He’s definitely got some attributes that we lack….running, ball carrying etc…..but his first touch and technical ability are not good enough for a Pep team as demonstrated when trying to deal with the admittedly poor pass from Ederson which lead to the Luton goal.
I don’t think he will be...
I really rate this guy however he really can be careless with his passing and on 2/3 occasions yesterday he gave the ball away which lead to dangerous breaks for Arsenal….I’m sure Pep will sort this out….fantastic potential and could eventually see him taking on the Stones role.
Has anyone mentioned the very dubious decision to disallow the goal at the Etihad in our home game against Liverpool… when ‘the best goalkeeper in the world’ virtually dropped the ball in his own net…..in response to the correctly turned down penalty appeal yesterday !!!
The performance v Real Madrid was as close as you could get to perfection…………9 of those starters were available today and we have Foden instead of Grealish and maybe Kova instead of Gundognan ( a downgrade granted)
The defence last season looked impregnable…….why Change
Pretty blatant wasn’t it……the only person in the ground that thought there was a foul for our goal and then calling out both the Salah dive then the Doku challenge in desperation because I am sure there is a two way comms link between Sky and Stockley Park.
Poor from City apart from the first and last 10 minutes….got some control back after the substitutions…..but would always take a draw at Anfield even though I though we had them on run in that first little period.
His pace is a bit of a myth…..he’s very quick over 5 yards and hence why he needs the ball on the edge of the box but he’s not going win a race from the halfway line because he just hasn’t got the stamina…..like a Sane or Sterling.
To be fair he was faced by two players every time he attacked...
