PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The total add-ons were reported as £7.5m, and there seem to be plenty of 'sources' now saying none of these relate to winning the league. I get the impression that these days most add-ons are easily achieved ones like appearances - just there to spread the cost a little.

    Referees' Performances | 2025/26

What's interesting about that image is that it shows just how far everyone moved. The ref was shown a fraction of that which gives no context as to how everyone ended up in a muddle of arms, shirt pulls etc. My own opinion is that it's a clear foul, but, particularly with Arsenal, fouls at...

    Premier League Games | 9/10/11/13 May '26

If you want some straw clutching hope... in the last four months just two teams are unbeaten at home in the Premier League. We're one of them. The other one plays at the London Stadium.

Everton (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Big chances missed is always a funny stat. Erling is top for the Premier League, but Igor Thiago is second, and of course they're the two top scorers as well. Top for missed big chances in Germany is Harry Kane, and in Spain it's Mbappe - not coincidentally, they're the top scorers too.

    Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

Not sure that's true. It might have been the case that a few teams were off the pace last year, but Liverpool wrapped up the title with 4 games still to play, having lost once in their previous 30 league games. They dropped ten points once the title was won, but Arsenal would likely have needed...

    33 | Nico O'Reilly - 2025/26

He was 17 when he joined, and 18 when he went out on loan. Looks like he spent about 17 months at City, then maybe the odd month between loans.

    Liverpool Thread | 2025/26 | Iraola becomes unlikeable (p397)

I know they've spent a lot, but this is the 5th time City have put 4 or more past Liverpool under Pep. How Klopp got so much leeway in comparison is astonishing.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Do you think the precedent might be anything to do with our own case - knowing that the sporting advantage stuff didn't fly?

    4 | Tijjani Reijnders - 2025/26

His output wasn't that different at Milan - he's played about 2500 minutes for us this season, but was on nearly 4600 with Milan last year. If he's scored one more goal he'd have the exact same goals/minute ratio - but he's way ahead on assists compared to last season. He's not taking a...

Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

Seeing a bit too much of videos like this. There must have been a dozen different ones in Gorton, and ultimately it's only going to put people off campaigning. That will help the right wing parties more, as they've always found it easier to get billionaires to give them money than to get...

    25 | Gianluigi Donnarumma - 2025/26

Not a bad first time back-heeled flick from the League 2 player up front either.

Will we win the league this season? No

I think it'll be easier than that. Needing 13 wins, would mean that Arsenal had won 11 out of the 12 matches they play against other teams. That's by far their best run of the year, and at a time where they're still competing in 4 competitions. I can see dropped points all round, even if we win.

The Haaland Incident where he's fouled on the corner

True - but how many times does it happen at corners? There's probably at least one player on the floor by the time most corners arrive in the box. I think he could have done a better job, but the amount of grappling, diving, pushing, grabbing etc. that goes on these days I suspect a lot of refs...

The Haaland Incident where he's fouled on the corner

VAR can't recommend yellow cards - just reds, and it clearly wasn't a red. I said earlier, the ref should have spotted it at the time, but let's face it, having a clear view of everything that goes on at corners is much harder than an isolated foul elsewhere on the pitch.

The Haaland Incident where he's fouled on the corner

Law 12. I seem to remember an incident at the World Cup or Euros where a keeper checked a ball had rolled out of play before retaliating for a tackle. He got sent off, but no penalty. https://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/lawsandrules/laws/football-11-11/law-12---fouls-and-misconduct
