Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer one tier, but if I'm costing it - a single tier is more expensive, takes a season longer before there's any ROI, and all for a completely intangible benefit.

From memory Franny certainly used to like to tell people that he'd inherited the plans, and that's why the new Kippax came out hugely expensive but lacking modern facilities eg not as much corporate as he'd have liked.
