I had this and missed week 9 of my plan as missus tested positive so I had to stay home too even though I was neg. I filled in with Zwift in the garage to keep the legs moving and stay sane. First run out after ten days isolation was bliss!

Good work. I’ve only done one marathon (London in 2016) and trained up to about 23 miles before cos I was just unsure of not training closer to the full distance. The training plan had 20 as the max and I’ve followed it again this time and not gone further (Did my 20 last week) It’s amazing what...

Just done my 20+ miler (33.33km) on my Hal Highdon plan this morning for London. Didn’t go well as it was warmer than I expected and I drank too much. Also finished up a massive hill which I had to walk which was wounding for the ego. Got it done though and it’s all smaller runs from here on in...

Just back from my long run as part of mara training and just shy of 20 miles. I really felt the difference of running in the afternoon as I usually go out first thing. Got it done but it was hard work towards the end! I much prefer the morning run routine: cup of tea and off I go.

I had a 3 step approach for my first (and only so far) marathon at London 2016. 1st aim Complete 2nd aim Compete 3rd aim Conquer! Basically just aim to achieve the first aim and anything else is a bonus. I’m doing London again this year and finding training much harder this time around but I’m...

Yeah I'll take it steady. I've been in very soft flexible shoes for a while now and have had a go on zeros before.

I took delivery of a pair of zero drop Altra Escalates today. Feel great with lovely big toe box for my wide feet. Not tried on the road yet as all my running done for the week but I'm looking forward to Monday.

I used to do yoga twice a week in a live class till lockdown but have not continued with online YouTube vids etc. I think it’s pretty important to know your form and just trying to follow a vid seems a possible route to injury! Go live if you can. I may look into starting up again now my old...

Re running in the heat I quite like it for the sweat fest but you just have to be steadier I feel and sometimes accept your pace will be way off. I did a HM in Singapore in 2018 and my trainers were waterlogged by the end but it was a great event. 0500 start to avoid the sun but still nearly 30...

Hal Highdon. A serious runner friend recommended it to me last time and it worked so I'm using it again. I just print off the novice 2 schedule and follow that sometimes moving the actual days I run as I work shifts. I did 3:29 in 2016 but will aim for sub 4 maybe 3:45 this time.

I started 2 weeks ago for London which I did 5 years ago. Gotta say the training plan looks and already feels more daunting than it did then!

It would seem from Strava he’s an Aussie and he’s in loads of Strava clubs.

On this day, did you celebrate when Dzeko scored?

I was trying to physically phone a friend but couldn’t get a signal. I’ve never had a lot of luck with data/wi fi at the Etihad. Glad it wasn’t just me with the phantom Sunderland equaliser rumour!

On this day, did you celebrate when Dzeko scored?

I did celebrate but not fully as I was confused. I thought I had heard someone say Sunderland had equalised but I didn’t know if this was true or not and was trying to phone a friend to confirm in all the confusion. I’ve still got my phone in my hand in pictures at 93:20 despite travelling four...
