Overall I'd say he's had a really strong first season for such a young player who's had a lot of injuries in the past. He would never have been expected to play so much so soon I don't think.
If he wants to revive his career he might need to take a pay cut. He's within his right to accept his city wages for the rest of the contract but that's basically giving up on his career so it's his choice.

I don't really agree, we've got 3 weeks off in the league now and just one FA cup game. If Kovacic can't play 2 in a week then he should have sat out Copenhagen. Pep just preferred Alvarez in this game for me. We should have gone with the extra control of Kovacic though imo.
