    Johnny Crossan

Yes, I remember being part of the pitch invasion at Burnley after the victory. Went to both the games at Leeds at the back end of the season, losing the cuptie after a wonderful performance but then a 0-0 draw with the inclusion of a certain Tony Coleman.

    Johnny Crossan

We did indeed play Moscow Dynamo in a friendly that season. The Southampton home game was a bit of a damp squib, in that we were both promoted and we were champions, they runners-up. Oddly enough the first game of 66-67 we were at Southampton. I was there on one of Paddy's coaches. Any of you...

    Johnny Crossan

Think it was Johnny who got our equaliser at Blackpool in the FA Cup january 1966. Thousands of Blues on the open end going wild. In those days replays were during the following week so we played them on the Monday night. winning 3-1. Another 50000 gate. Malcolm's warning to Busby about us...

Still to work out the full lineup but I think the front row far left is Peter Dobing and Alex Harley before they were sold to Stoke and Birmingham, respectively, prior to the start of the 63-64 season.

    Next Captain

Whoever it be,may I express my thanks and true regards to a man whom I regard as the most intelligent footballer I have ever seen. Ilkay produced so many match changing moments for us and controlled the tempo of so many games when it mattered. The very best of luck to you, Ilkay, and enormous...

Picked up sunglasses and jumper at FA cup final at Wembley

I also understand a significant number of "lost" or "forgotten" red and white bucket hats were recovered from the other end of the ground. Fortunately Wembley officials recovered them and they are now in a repository close to Euston station awaiting local collection.

CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

Out of idle curiosity, have you any idea of the millions which the Phil Jones brand may have generated?

Is the false nine an updated version of the Revie plan

Spot on. Furthermore, Cliff scored, as did our other fullback, Bobby Kennedy, in the 4-1 win. 1965-66 season.

    Best All-English City XI

Spot on. The greatest all English team. Proud to be old enough to have seen it. ps - it's a good job substitute Bobby Kennedy didn't come on at Newcastle or the record would be gone. Come on you Blues

    Message from a Sunderland fan

I well remember going to roker new years eve 1966. We lost 1 0 to a late Bobby Kerr goal. Some pillock pulled the chain on the return train to Newcastle for our connection to Manchester. Back in town after the last train to Bury, my dad picked me up near crumpsall on on my walk back to Bury. I...

The Helmet Rides Again - free fanzine download (page 5)

Great read. Thanks to Noel and the lads. It was me you were talking to in the Crown and Kettle after a game when you discussed the possibility of a summer publication. So glad you did it.

    Glyn Pardoe RIP

Great memories of Glyn, from his debut in April 1962. Another poster has recalled an equaliser v Blackpool in the F A cup Jan 1966. This is also how I remember it but other sources credit the goal to Johnny Crossan. I was there and am sure it was Glyn. No doubt in the replay though - we beat...
